Aren't you embarrassed to live in Pattaya

Agree. Not that many. Some claim they bedded 1000 quality Pattaya women.

That is less believable.

    Nope, love living here.

I’m more curious where you live that’s so flawless. A utopia, is it? No drunks, no dodgy headlines, no locals behaving badly… just everyone sipping herbal tea and filing their taxes early?

Why do you have such a compulsion to post dispiriting content on this forum. That’s the question you should be asking.

Why do you keep trolling someone that put you on ignore? Will you ever grow up? 1000 movies is 33 a year for 30 years. Not that many.

Why complain about posts you cannot read when the poster is claimed by you to be on YOUR IGNORE list?

Since when has responding to a poster's post been classified as stalking when the response and questions asked are factual.

Please report me to the MODs or the next time you accuse me of trolling I will do the reporting

PS' How can I be accused of Stalking YOU who when YOU have posted that I am on YOUR IGNORE list?

Try reading posts before just typing your usual insults!

I did not question the fact that you claimed to have watched over 1000 movies!

I asked why did you do so when you have claimed to find films to be, and I quote;

!I've watched all of that. Mostly formulas. They use music and lighting to create tension. Good guy won again. The killer got caught. The tense drama saw the bad lawyer lose. All mostly the same repeated for decades. All fake too except for live footage."!

Narrator whisper:

He only pretends to put people on ignore.

Just watched it again last week. Great movie, although I did wish Tommy Lee Jones would have taken him out nearing his retirement, but that's their style of movie. Movies are a release, as anyone can relate to many of them, and feel for the actors and circumstances. I've watched Schindler's List many times, for many reasons but because I'm half Polish and know what went on back then, and hate the Nazis for what they did.

My friend is Polish. Same personality as you.

How does he do it all?

The secret Freemason Society of 15 otherwise completely hidden posters here who dote on his every word, +100 posts a day, all with the six or eight people left that he has supposedly not put on ignore?

I often mention people here who I disagree with whose posts I like, like Yagoda and yellowtail.

But he doesn’t really like anyone here.

Everyone is weird and strange. In autism, the world does really narrow down like that for these poor people.

What motivates this daily self humiliation ritual that he feels he has to do for years on end?

I think you have vastly overestimated his intelligence.

I used to answer Henny Youngman’s phone for an answering service.

Ancient senior citizens would call in and leave jokes for him.

Henny would tell me to toss most of them in the trash, but keep about one and 12.

My primary job was to take phone calls from drunken people in hotel rooms, because his number was in the phonebook.

He would sit at the stage deli in Times Square and wait for me to beep him and tell him, “ Henny, Shriners at the Marriott, room 217”.

He would walk over with his violin. Do a 15 minute set and leave with $100.

I also answered the phone for Miles Davis and Andy Warhol and have some stories to tell about them too.

But as a roid rage Bogan just impotently stammered:

Th-this is a thread about Pattaya.

So no ones talking about Pattaya. What about Warhol and Davis. So what were they like?

My Sparktrader theory: did travel a lot in Thailand, ran out of money, now is working in Australia thus the frustration that comes through. Who knows.

Miles Davis only wanted to talk to his manager and his wife, then actress Cicely Tyson. Everyone else I was instructed not to even tell him about, he would get about 100 phone calls a day.

I told him that in a silent way was my favorite album of his and he even cracked a joke “ not that old bye-bye blackbird <deleted>?”.

He had the great Clint Eastwood and dirty Harry kind of whisper voice that made you fearful to talk to him at all. He was after all, the inventor of cool, the first person to wear sunglasses at night.

Andy Warhol was very chatty and got great messages from lots of big celebrities, in this era, Liza Minnelli and Halston, the fashion designer were calling him at least half a dozen times a day. He sent an expensive fruit cake to the answering service at Christmas, which I am sure was regifted from somewhere else.

I asked him if he would sign a dollar bill for me and he said to send it to him. I got back a Xerox of a dollar bill with the signature also Xeroxed, assuming it was even his signature.

But he was famous for this kind of kindness along Madison Avenue, and every diner and doorman has a very positive Andy Warhol story to tell.

I agree, but unlike it I do not like to insult those of a lower cerebral standard, even if I have to exaggerate their cell count by 50% or more!

And as long as I’m here, I considered Jomptien as a retirement destination. Close to the airport, close to Pattaya when I want that. Very reasonable social scene.

But I don’t particularly value the beach, so I didn’t want to pay a premium in price and convenience to be near it.

I looked at the dark side too, For an expat couple, it would be pretty plush.

Edited by Prubangboy

I admit that if standing around the water cooler at work and someone said - where are you going on your two month trip to Thailand - I would say Jomtiem, Koh Chang, but feel a bit sheepish about saying Pattaya. I don't stay there as such so no worries.

Edited by Fat is a type of crazy

The whole Eastern Seaboard all the way to Koh Chang is relatively unvisited, except for Pattaya.

It reminds me of Florida, which is also an endless maze of old South and slightly Honky Tonk beach, likewise, unseen by the tourist who go to three places.

Pattaya as dirty Miami works for me as a metaphor.

If Pattaya was an American beach resort, with its sinner reputation and great food, it would probably be in at least the top 10 beach destinations in the USA.

I don’t buy the myopic -or autistic- argument that it’s not real Thailand. It is a synthesis of that old coastal beach culture, Issan, and Bangkok.

That’s why people love it, because you get so much Thai culture served up along with your English all day breakfast, whether you consciously realize it or not. It is unique in the world.

His saying that movie lighting creates tension is up there with his bold claim that some stores are big and some stores are small.

His refusal to be “fooled” by a movie soundtrack is yet more gold.

I’m taking care of my sick partner. So I have another day to kill poking the retard with a stick.

Hope your partner is well again soon.

Thanks, she had a melanoma removed

We are going up to the river house and will stop at an orchid farm for lunch.

Making fun of autistic incels is great fun but real life is good too

Yeah, incel. He consistently refers to women as females, this is straight up Andrew Tate incel speech.

So I have my doubts about the hiso dentist GF.

Or his fictional long distance relationship that appears to have been going on for a fair few years now since he was last in Thailand.

Head down to Jarvis and church to celebrate ? 😆

Lighting is one of the most powerful tools a filmmaker has to manipulate a viewer's subconscious. It doesn't just show us what is happening; it tells us how to feel about it. By controlling shadows, contrast, and color, directors can build a sense of unease before a single line of dialogue is even spoken.

Here are a few primary ways lighting is used to craft tension:

1. Chiaroscuro and High-Contrast (Low-Key Lighting)

Low-key lighting relies on a high contrast between bright highlights and deep, impenetrable shadows. This technique—often associated with Film Noir and Horror—creates tension by:

  • Obscuring Information: If the audience can’t see what’s in the corner of the room, the imagination fills it with something threatening.
