Neo Nazi Terrorist Convicted UK

You started a thread about the conviction of the right wing extremist neo-Nazi, Alfie Coleman, for preparing acts of terrorism, so it is perfectly reasonable for anyone to make comments about any other terrorism.

There is not much more to say about Coleman, his offence was more than two and a half years ago, he has rightly been convicted, and I have already said he should be incarcerated indefinitely.

It is not off topic or unreasonable to talk about terrorism in relation to your thread; but of course, as always, you become traumatised if Islam is criticised in any way; whether it is about Islamic terrorism, the subjugation of women, the persecution of gays, the female genital mutilation of girls as young as one year old, or the paedophilia of middle aged uncles marrying prepubescent nieces, you spit your dummy out immediately, with cries of bigot or Islamophobe, but never address the criticism directly, as you will fail to do agin here.

Maybe you should not have started a thread with acts of terrorism as its core issue, if you did not want it to be reasonably expanded upon.

You are not from the UK and do not live there, but if you were genuinely interested in news from there, instead of trawling the extreme left wing comic, the Guardian, for titbits of a crime committed over two years ago, you would be addressing the most significant news from there, which is the appalling rise in violent antisemitic attacks against the UK’s Jewish community.

Yes it’s off topic as witnessed by your first post attempting to deflect from the OP and your continued efforts since to do so.

Where you imagine I’m from or not from is a complete irrelevance beyond demonstrating your desperate reach for ad hominem in tge absence of any reasonable argument.

The Guardian is an award winning international newspaper and a credible source, the news reported on this case is of an actual court case, its factual.

Sorry you don’t like it.

What defines a nazi one wonders, as virtually everything that defines a nazi in history taught, is exactly what Israel does too. While once understanding that, they are both equally evil.

It is not off topic at all; you started a thread about someone preparing acts of terrorism, and I mentioned other acts of terrorism. However, because the acts I mentioned are from the most prolific source of terrorism in the world, Islam, you, true to form, become traumatised and somehow think you can control the narrative of other posters replies. You can’t.

If you cannot deal with reasonable responses, you should not start threads.

Utter nonsense.

It’s report of a court conviction of an extreme rightwing Neo-Nazi, a specific case unrelated to any of the whataboutary you are inserting.

What’s that you say about ‘controlling the narrative of other posters?:

“If you cannot deal with reasonable responses, you should not start threads.”

Whataboutary is not a reasonable response and thank you but I’ll start any thread I wish provided it complies with the forum rules, if you can’t deal with the actual subject of threads then move on to one that doesn’t offend you.

Complete and utter garbage. You posted a thread, the core issue of which was a conviction for preparing acts of terrorism; not at all off topic to mention other acts of terrorism.

You are just traumatised because I mentioned Islamic terrorism, the greatest source of terrorism in the world, but one that you cannot countenance any criticism of.

Get over yourself.

the Islamists have been at it again? In the same week the UK has raised the terror threat because of all the Islamist attacks?

I believe the raised terror threat is not due to the Golders Green events, but due to the potential, likelihood, of something far more sinister. Very worried.

Records of referrals through the extremism intervention program Prevent indicate this convicted extreme rightwing Neo-Nazi terrorist is the tip of a growing iceberg of rightwing extremism in the UK

“‘Extreme Right-Wing’ concerns accounted for 21% (1,798) of referrals [to Prevent] , higher than those related to ‘Islamist Extremism’ (10%; 870); compared with the previous year, the proportion of referrals for ‘Extreme Right-Wing’ concerns increased (up from 19%; 1,314 of 6,921), while the proportion for ‘Islamist Extremism’ decreased (down from 13%; 913 of 6,921)”

According to Lord John Mann, the government's independent adviser on antisemitism, the terrorist threat level has been raise because of the relentless antisemitic attacks on the UK’s Jewish community. In March this year there was an arson attack on 5 Hatzola volunteer Jewish ambulances, on April 15 an arson attack on the Finchley Synagogue, April 17 arson attack on Jewish charity in Hendon, April 18 arson attack on Kenton United Synagogue, then of course the horrendous stabbings in Golders Green 3 days ago.

Lord Mann spoke to the BBC saying he feels the level rising was "inevitable", adding that the recent wave of attacks followed a "sustained hostility to people in the Jewish community”

"I don't think the country quite understands what's been going on," he said, adding that Jewish people are being abused and "ostracised" in school and their workplaces.

This thread isn’t about the current ‘terror threat level’, antisemitism, or attacks on the Jewish community.

There are threads discussing those issues and you could always start another if that’s what you wish to discuss.

It is of course an important issue deserving of its own thread, but this isn’t that thread.

I was simply replying to another poster who was speculating as to why the terrorism threat level has been raised.

My reply to him was factual and a direct response to his comment.

I notice that you did not admonish him for supposedly straying off topic, but as soon as I mention the appalling antisemitic attacks on Jewish citizens in the UK, you want to shut down the conversation ….. I wonder why (rhetorical)

Would that be the same Prevent program that Somali born Essa Suleiman was referred to in 2020, but was allowed the freedom to go on and attempt to murder two Jewish men 3 days ago, because Prevent closed his case the same year ?

This despite the fact that Suleiman was jailed in 2008 for repeatedly stabbing a police officer, Neil Sampson, in the head, face and leg and also stabbing his dog, Anya in the chest.

Not sure you can trust Prevent with anything, time for it to be completely restructured or replaced.

There’s a thread open questioning that very subject which you seem to have missed.

The OP is about a conviction for preparing acts of terrorism, and you don’t get to decide on this forum what is relevant to the post and what is not; and acts of terrorism most certainly are relevant, even if they don’t suit your left wing narrative.

The most obvious deflection is actually the original post, posted from the Guardian by a non UK citizen, designed to deflect attention away from the appalling antisemitic attacks running wild in the UK.

This extreme right wing nut job, Alfie Coleman, has just been convicted, but was arrested in 2023, more than two and a half years ago; whereas the attempted murder of Jews in Golders Green, took place only two days ago; violent antisemitism is spiralling out of control in the UK, with a spate of arson attacks on Jewish property, the burning of 4 Hatzola ambulances, and only last October the killing of two Jews at Manchester Synagogue with a car ramming.

However, the left wing extremists, especially on this forum, remain silent about the attacks on Jews, but one conviction of a right wing extremist, and they are popping corks and doing cartwheels.

Also for your info, Neo-Nazi is the label applied by the Guardian, and adopted by the BBC, Sky, the OP, and all the other usual suspects; the CPS and the Met described him as an extreme right-wing terrorist, which he obviously is, and will hopefully be incarcerated indefinitely.

So many logical fallacies and whataboutism its hard to keep up.

Firstly I'm not 'left-wing'. If I had to describe myself (with a gun to my head) I would say I'm liberal (there is a difference) but this is just the beginning of your assumptions as you quickly follow this up with the completely unsubstantiated accusation that the original poster is posting 'to deflect attention away from the appalling antisemitic attacks running wild in the UK' - utter drivel of course with zero evidence to back it up. I know this may come as a shock to you but 2 subjects can exhists at the same time, and because both are seperate, they can then be discussed seperately without the need to bring one subject into the other. This attempt to deflect from the original post is the Red Herring Fallacy I mentioned. Neo Nazi's are bad - muslim terrorists are bad - attacks on the Jewish community are bad. Each one can be discussed seperately, without detracting from the other.

Then of course you just can't help yourself and just double down with the again uncorroborated '....... the left wing extremists, especially on this forum, remain silent about the attacks on Jews, but one conviction of a right wing extremist, and they are popping corks and doing cartwheels.' Just complete and utter drivel. Start your own post on the subject of 'attacks on Jews' and we can all comment on that - I for one will condemn it as I imagine most of these 'left-wing extremists' you are so happy to label people as will as well. But that's the point isn't it. You don't really want to discuss the attacks on Jews - you just want to have a pop at muslims.

You like many on here have an obsession with muslim to the point you can't just comment on a neo-Nazi post without immediately (yours was the second post) deflecting to 'but, but, but what about the muslims'. It's so transparant as to be laughable (as are your subsequent post trying to explain why YOU think it is relevant) but you keep doing you my little islamaphobe.

This thread has devolved into a bickering match and has totally lost the point of the original post by the OP. Almost the entire second page of posts are bickering between members regarding what the post is about and that bickering started on the first page of posts. As this thread literally has no subject that is being actively discussed by members and has devolved into a bickering match - I've closed it.

For the OP and others posting topics. Your topic subject is not well defined. You dropped a link with virtually no explanation as to what your topic was about. I highly recommend that if you wish to discuss a news topic, that you personally summarize what can be found in the link and open with a statement regarding what the actual topic is about in your own words. Dropping a link and assuming that AN members will 100% understand your point leads to this type of mess.

Here is an example of clearly defining your topic:

Neo-Nazi Convicted After MI5 Sting for Mass Gun Attack Plot

A 21-year-old neo-Nazi from Essex was convicted of preparing terrorist acts after MI5 undercover officers foiled his plans to carry out a mass shooting.

Topic Summary
Alfie Coleman, radicalized online from age 14, planned attacks on a mosque and other targets using firearms and explosives but was arrested in a sophisticated MI5 operation before he could act.

Full Summary
Alfie Coleman, a former supermarket worker from Great Notley, Essex, was found guilty at the Old Bailey of preparing terrorist acts. He created a hate list of colleagues and customers, wrote a manifesto inspired by extremists, and identified potential targets including a London mosque and the Lord Mayor’s residence. Coleman began consuming extreme right-wing material as a teenager and actively sought weapons, including automatic rifles and pistols, through encrypted online chats. MI5’s undercover operation culminated in his arrest in a Morrisons car park in Stratford, east London, in September 2023, moments after he collected a Makarov pistol and ammunition. Searches of his family home uncovered neo-Nazi symbols, knives, an air rifle, bomb-making documents, and evidence of his admiration for other violent extremists. Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Flanagan warned that more young people are being drawn into violent extremism online, with one in five counter-terrorism cases now involving children. Coleman remains in custody ahead of sentencing on 8 July.
