Hi,

On another thread I read that visas (non imm b was under discussion) were only issued from your country of residence. Is that correct?

Imagine the following scenario:

I am currently resident in country A. If I go to Thailand from A with an Imm B. (or other) visa do I always have to renew from country A?

I will lose my residency in country A (wp runs out there) and now shift to country B but with no wp there (I am a tourist). Can I take another Imm B. (or whatever) visa (to Thailand) from country B?

My home country is country C. Which is a frickin long way away from A, B or Thailand. So I don't fancy going back there just for visa renewal.

Cheers

That's generally not correct but for some nationalities (e.g. Indian subcontinent, Africans), it may be "approaching correct". Without specific countries given for your A, B and C, it's hard to really hazard an educated guess as to your situation.

OK then, I am from the UK. Can I get a multi entry non imm "O" or non imm "B" without having to go back to the UK.

I am not on about going to Penang with a bundle of company papers to get a single entry "B" either.

We never get clarification on this subject. Some people say you can get in Oz but its not that much cheaper or less distance than the UK.

Also, does anyone actually know why you cannot get one say in Hong Kong. I know you cannot, but why ?

Multiple visa's are very difficult to obtain in the SE Asian region. Probably due to the very large numbers of applicants and hopefuls. It seems that Penang is a chance again if you use the Penang agents. Give them a call.

So you're saying they will offer up what ? multi entry non imm "O" or non imm "B" ? What documentation is required ?

Any numbers for these agents to call and any guarantees if you fly down and they don't get what you want ?

Do you have company paperwork and work permit? Are you married to a Thai and have marriage certificate/ID card/200k in bank? If yes then Penang may be able to supply but don't recall any B visa issue reports yet (since Penang returned to issue of multi entry visas). And no, I do not believe any Penang visa agent is going to offer you any guarantee. Your paperwork has to satisfy the Consulate. I suspect you can find numbers with search here or on Google.

Thanks for the information. I am from the UK and I'm talking. B and C are in the Asian sub-continent. Which worries me since some of the above replies indicate it can be tricky to get visas and renewals in Asia.

Going all the way back to the UK would be nuts.
