Do you believe in Anything? And, why?

Do you believe in Anything? And, why?

Dear Folks,

Is it not astounding that people believe in Anything, and usually for no particular reason, under the SUN?

What do YOU believe in, just for the heck of it, with no supporting evidence?

Would you say that unsubstantiated beliefs are destroying our World?

What can be done about this?

Should we enforce accountability for idle beliefs, far more than we do?

How many teachers and politicians pontificate and act on their beliefs, illogically, to the detriment of the common citizen, and the average gifted student?

How many times have you been hurt and damaged by others’ zany beliefs?

I am not referring to the Jim Jones types.

I am talking about the people that are in authority.

I am talking about people who express beliefs on TV, even.

How do you deal with this?

Do you just do your best to ignore them, and go about your business?

Or, do you become worked up to the point that your frustration and exasperation causes you to lose sleep, lose weight, or become obese?

I am not talking about tolerance, which is a good thing. I am asking what strategies you use to live a happy life without being bombarded by false beliefs, false prophets, and the effects of fools in authority in our world.

And, yes, the belief in God is just one of many examples, in case you might be wondering.

Best regards,

And I do NOT believe in Anything….

How could I…???

I believe in that you start a lot of rubbish threads, because there is a trail of evidence on AN forum.

Mostly I deny nothing; but question everything.

You have no clue what you’re on about as well as your credibility which is in the tank given that the subject is over your thought grade.

If there is something to believe in, it must be nature and the physical laws bound to it.

Spinoza: God is not a man in the sky, but nature itself, the order, the laws, the whole system. Not mystical in the religious sense, but still deep enough to create respect, humility and wonder.

And yes, I also believe in myself, and in the people close to me.

Believe in God, family, the earth's wonders and an afterlife to enjoy them more. Music, hunting, fishing, good food, friends and cats and dogs.

As in subatomic particles that make up everything? Sure of course, that’s reality.

What is astounding is that too many folks believe in any-thing that is thrown at them as in stuff that doesn’t exist, that’s incredible.

The PARTICLE Theory is no-longer valid, as you should know by now.

The Particle Theory is just a model, and approximation of the reality we see.

Or, did you NOT know????

Is it possible, do you think, to force the belief in God, or gods?

To "believe" was not a voluntary act. For 1500 years, the catholic church dictated what was to be believed in or not. Based on middle eastern mithology written down by hebrew tribal chiefs. If one did not obej the doctrin, hell was the reward for non believers. Psycho terror at it's best, for 1500 years. Unsurpassed.

I Firmly believe in the afterlife the body and soul are carried in a vessel once that vessel has done its job ie as in death we move to a higher plain. We will not be visible or be felt by family but we will be noticed in sense and feeling.

I won't even attempt to argue with your incisive analysis of my reputation on TV.

This would be, in fact, a fool's errand.

And, I am no fool, by any means.

We will not be visible

I have always wanted to be invisible.

Most children dream about having the power to be invisible.

But, I have retained this wish of possessing the power of invisibility into my old age.

Poor, poor...Barry Lyndon....

Throughout my life, I have felt such angst and sympathy for Barry.

Life is just so unfair.......

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to life.

Outcomes are too unpredictable.

And, it matters not what one might believe.

The randomness of the universe always trips us up, ....

In the end.

I do not believe in Anything.

You don't force anything. You spread the word, and then it's up to them.

Spread the word.

The word is LOVE.....

All religions preach about love eachother, be good, respect, but the reality is totally opposite, with wars, killing eachother, force to be a part of that religion and abuse..... It ended my believes in the earth based religion, however I believe that the power of Anything is how you treat people others will influence your life... Call it Kharma...

Pithy stuff, but maybe too many trips to Thailand's temples?

I believe we live once in this form and what is next is a mystery. I "think" we just die and decompose but not 100% sure of this end. I I can't force that leap of faith to believe in a God and I wouldn't know what God to choose. I'm realising lately that life is extremely short and trying to remain anxiety free so I can enjoy it.

I believe in "purpose" and "acceptance". Not a religion but it accomplishes much of the same.
