JD part of the problem, not the answer. Rubio/DeSantis or DeSantis/Rubio would be okay, but you'll not have a president and vp from the same state.

I know the definition ! Any why is it not fair to put all yanks together, they all bear responsibility for electing Trump

Trump’s presidency did not occur in a vacuum. In a democracy, leadership is not merely the product of those who cast votes for a candidate, but the culmination of societal forces, historical inequities, and collective inaction.

While it is tempting to place blame solely on the individuals who supported Trump at the polls, the reality is far more complicated. it becomes evident that each American plays some role in the broader public responsibility for enabling Trump’s rise, and for the subsequent damage wrought by his administration.

Even those who recognized Trump’s shortcomings should bear some responsibility if they did not work hard enough to enfranchise the disenfranchised, or work to promote reforms that encourage fairer voting practices.

an awareness of how an entire society can enable such a presidency is essential to preventing its recurrence. Accountability can begin in everyday spaces.

Lumping a whole country, with thousands of your own country's citizens together, and saying they don't have integrity when you know only a few is ignorance personified. We all didn't elect Trump, and many of those that did are now regretting that choice.

As always, you target America citizens because of the actions of some. I don't think all Brits are idiots because of their past history with Scotland, Ireland and the US.

Those that didn't vote, or didn't vote for Trump, aren't to blame for anything wrong he does. We didn't have any other choices besides Kamala and her side was weak. The average citizen can only sit back and see what happens, as it has with all politicians worldwide. The entire society is comprised of people from every country, again including yours, and blaming what a president does after he's elected on citizens is wrong. They do have minds of their own, and a billionaire wanting to be God already isn't a good candidate.

All Americans are responsible ! are you not part of a society ? Even those who recognized Trump’s shortcomings should bear some responsibility if they did not work hard enough to enfranchise the disenfranchised, or work to promote reforms that encourage fairer voting practices.

At the heart of any democracy lies a social contract. Citizens agree to remain informed, vote, and hold their leaders accountable. In return, they expect fair representation and a government that addresses the public’s needs.

To point out i am not British and its immaterial what nationally i am

Guess you don't understand logic, or what the average citizen cannot do once a president is elected. Americans , by way of media daily from a number of sources, are informed. No matter where you're from, it matters, as there are citizens from your country that live, and vote , in America and have for centuries.Unless of course you're from North Sentinel Island.

The Average citizens can hold the president accountable and shape policy between elections by contacting representatives, joining advocacy groups, participating in town halls, and engaging in local governance. You do not have to wait for the next election cycle to participate in democracy.Write and Speak Out !! but you yanks just like to moan how a bad job he is doing rather that do something about it.!!

By the time anything could be done, a new president is in office. How is the political world in your country? Have they not been corrupt, slept with women other than their wives, started wars, helped the economy, passed smart legislation, lowered taxes, or basically lived up to the promises they made?

Guess you haven't lived in the US for 62 years and seen how many media sources there are there. That people are misinformed happens everywhere, as they go by other's opinions instead of facts, and some sources are biased. That's where you use your noggin and figure out what's reality. But people do have that chance as there are many media sources, especially in the US.

Why the deflection!! Democracy is never perfect !! you are misguided if you think so ! but there is democracy and democracy !!

America now is a "autocratic democracy" which is a system that maintains the outward appearance of a democracy—such as holding regular elections—but functions internally as an autocracy, with a dominant ruling party or leader consolidating power, restricting opposition, and undermining the rule of law.

autocratic democracy is a form of dictatorship and you have him in for life !!

No deflection. Just pointing out that you don't live there, so have little idea of what goes on, besides looking at videos and thinking it's all about one man. and it's your deflection not taking responsibility for your own country and the questions I asked about it. I lived there 62 years and saw what's gone on all along. Good and bad, corruption and democracy, in all campaigns. Just like in your country. Many candidates oppose the other side and try to control things, but democracy usually takes over eventually. The citizens do have their say, even if the elected party goes sideways for awhile.

Like many Americans, you confuse quantity with quality. For example, what you call left-wing in the media is actually centrist in most other countries.

Reality is America is screwing itself with wealth inequality, and Trump is its instrument. He was paying less tax than one of his janitors during his first presidency.

In the early sixties, the ratio of a CEO's pay to that of a shop floor worker was 25:1. Now , it is about 280:1, and still rising, while your media continues to tell you how splendidly you are doing.

Like many Australians, you think you know many Americans and what they think. That's assuming without knowledge.

I'm not political, so I don't label people no matter what they believe, as both sides are problematical.

America has always been this way, as is Thailand, with America having much more of the middle class.

Trump hasn't changed much as far as how people live their lives. Prices have always gone up and down for reasons no president is liable for.

Population rises, prices go up, life is harder. When a president actually helps the average American get by is when I take notice. Seems that's what everyone worldwide waits for that isn't rich.

Then why, again, worry about what goes on there? You keep lumping Trump and his ways along with all Americans. Doesn't work. America is a great country, all worldwide people in one place where you can have anything you want. Trump's just another politician and isn't in charge of any other countries. Those other countries don't have to listen to what he says unless it helps them, and all countries benefit from America's trading.

Oh I thought trump was suposed to be the leader of the free world !! thats is what he thinks if i am not wrong !!

the sheer economic and military size of the United States means that presidential decisions (such as enacting travel restrictions or altering foreign aid) have massive, rippling consequences worldwide. This allows the administration to exert profound leverage globally without directly governing those countries.

America WAS a great country !

Systemic Weaknesses are highlighting declining metrics in areas like literacy, math, science, and life expectancy compared to other developed nations.

Political Polarization There are well-documented rise in hyper-partisanship, social division, and a general lack of trust in government and media institutions.

Economic Inequality there are widening wealth gap and declining opportunities for upward social mobility as signs the American dream is gone

Public perception remains deeply fractured. look at the MAGA cult for example

And yes America has "all worldwide people in one place where you can have anything you want." and is striving to deport them !! So is America in decline ?? YES !

America was and still is a great country. It, like all other countries, has had it's share of loons in office, and we still get by. Thousands move there every year. Don't believe everything you read or hear, if you don't live there you only scratch the surface of what foes on there daily in millions of lives.

Like all other places, it has it's share of problems. Some small countries with a fraction of the population are doing better, but that's to be expected. America again is all countries in one place. Different ideologies, races, creeds and lifestyles, which clash and can cause problems. There will always be those who are extreme on either side, and there lies the problem. The rest of us aren't causing trouble there.

Why not deport people who don't belong? That's what other countries do, or at least they do eventually.

We had a Civil War awhile back, and we came through that okay. Think of the countries that have dictators and ones close to that. Again, why worry if you call no country home? You can always go somewhere else.

The average American knows about as much of the world as I do about neurosurgery. It's an inherently isolationist country.

You don't seem to understand your middle class has been hollowed out. Student debt levels are out of control, housing is unaffordable, your medical system is a sick joke.

If you think Trump has not changed people's lives with his tariffs and the asinine Iran war, you are simply not paying attention.

And as for deporting people would agree ! but after due processes which is not happening and killing people !! How many Americans do you know? Okay, I'll give you 20 personally, and I'm thinking that's a stretch. How well do you actually know those? Granted this generation on their medias seem to not be too knowledgeable but unless you actually know them, impossible to judge. Maybe the ones you know aren't as educated as those I do, but most of the Americans I've ever known personally have been pretty swift, as far as what I saw being around them more than a few times.

There will always be a middle class in America, and more are moving from there upwards and not down. Population increases mean higher prices, so it's not as easy to get by as before, but they seem to.

This doesn't seem to be how America is except as noted much earlier in time................Key Characteristics of Isolationism

  • Diplomatic Detachment: Avoiding foreign alliances, mutual defense pacts, and participation in international peacekeeping or geopolitical coalitions.

  • Economic Protectionism: Restricting international trade, tariffs, and global agreements to ensure the domestic economy becomes completely self-reliant (a concept known as autarky).

  • Military Non-Intervention: Refusing to take sides in foreign wars or conflicts that do not directly threaten national security.

The Spectrum of Isolationism

  • Pure Isolationism: Complete withdrawal from the global community. Historically, examples include Tokugawa-era Japan (1603–1868), which completely sealed its borders. Modern North Korea is often cited as a contemporary example, maintaining a strict policy of Juche (self-reliance).

  • Limited Isolationism: A broad strategy of prioritizing domestic issues while maintaining minimal diplomatic or trade ties. Historically, the United States practiced a form of limited isolationism during the 19th and early 20th centuries, formally documented in the Monroe Doctrine and the George Washington Farewell Address, which warned against "entangling alliances."

Student debt has always been a problem, and when you want your children in college, that means debt. The schools are charging more now, along with budget cuts, but this has been since early 2000's. Housing prices go up and down, as they always have.

America has a great health and medical system, and anyone that needs it can go to public hospitals. That some choose unhealthy lifestyles is on them, not the system. America can have free health and likely will someday.

If you think you understand all of the reasons why America attacked Iran, you haven't been paying attention, and likely Trump is too much on your mind, like a few others.

Some aren't looking at the endgame but what's going on now. Many think they know how a particular government thinks, and what they're planning for the future, and are so Trump fixated by his mannerisms and speech, they can't see past that into what's coming later. No matter what's done in the conflict, and what positive changes will be made, they'll still find reasons to negate it from that fixation.
