He cannot cope with the fact that people can have real relationships based on compatibility, rather than "How much you pay?"

Why is he so shy as to reveal how much he pays(provides if it causes him less pain) his 'real girlfriend'?

One says he's "banged" hundreds of women, and sees them as dogs, and actually thinks he can comment on your normal relationships and marriages. I tell others here I'm going to move for the last year and a half, and he turns that into 5 years. Forgets many things from a poor memory, skimming or both. He needs to get GG's notepad in use. I have many foreign friends here and he thinks I want to waste time with an outcast.

No @fredwiggy "we're all" is just you trying to gather up support. I referring to you paying to have a girlfriend. If it is not true, then why not refute the assertion that you would not have a girlfriend if you stopped paying?

Personally don’t have enough empirical atriabuts of the poster to make such a judgement, though time will tell.

Lots of fat old guys come to Thailand thinking that traversing a half dozen or more time zones will turn them into a handsome prince and young Thai women will “finally appreciate me”, or that their $50K pension makes them a "catch".

 

Ain’t going to happen. If you couldn’t score in the dating world back home or have failed relationships with women, nothing is going to change in Thailand. Getting hit with that harsh reality makes these guys bitter, while others become misogynistic and take it out on poor rural females here or in Cambodia, paying them to service their revolting bodies. Some on this site freely admit that's what they do. (Hint: it isn't young females' fault that one's life is ending miserably.)

 

Thailand is actually a pretty easy place to fit in. There are few places left on this planet where one can even reside in a massive city and yet still find community. Bangkok has a bazillion people, but one can still find a “village” in the heart of the city, where one knows the neighbors, exchanges daily greetings, offers to chip in when someone needs a hand doing something, and caring for those with whom one spends time and space. Thai people, at least from my experience living in Bangkok, do not have the inherent fear of outsiders that even many Americans back home now have. Be respectful, polite and low key, and one is welcomed. It takes someone willfully blind or too obsessed with how his dream did not materialize to not see what is right in front of him.

I've never lied here but as you can notice, he will turn that around also. Still waiting for him to tell us how he can possibly live here, not retired, and without that work permit. By the way, kids don't like broken marriages, but they benefit from having at least one actual parent, which all of mine did, and all are doing well in life. Guess you're wrong again, which makes that, 100% of the time. I've never been trapped, as I got custody,being the only real, stable, loving parent they had.
