Hi, sorry for my english in advance.

I plan to go and stay in thailand soon. I am 40 and married with a thai lady but no children yet.

I have a Visa multiple O for family visit.

For the moment my wife will stay in my country to work and it's her choice too.

I will receive in my bank in thailand 45000+ every month.

When I did Visa the reason was family visit.

The question is will it be more difficult later to extend that visa in Bangkok and wich documents should I need ?

If the best is to have Visa for Marriage. Wich paper should I have and should my wife stay in thailand to get this visa ? Should my wife stay in thailand to extend it ? Should my wife stay in thailand for residence check every 3 months ?

Or I can tell them that she still stay in my country for the moment ?

Wich documents should I need in this case ?

Documents to extend and to show every 3 months are the same ?

Thx all in advance to help me in my case :o

With your multi entry you will have to leave Thailand every 90 days , go over a border and come straight back.

To extend your stay every year when your current visa expires you will need an income of 40,000 baht a month. (Income not savings)

And yes your wife will have to live here with you.

If you are here alone you would have to leave Thailand every 90 days and get another Visa. You may be lucky and get another multi entry but dont count on it.

Thx Lite Beer :o

So the best for me is to stay with Visa Multiple O for Family visit and do borders runs ?

From Bangkok the best is Penang for my case ?

Wich documents I have to bring there ?

After one year to extend visa wich documents should I take ?

1. Multi entry is all you will qualify for; and technically you may not qualify for that (as it would be issued to visit family in Thailand if using marriage as the reason).

2. Best border run would depend on where you were located and how you want to travel.

3. You do not need anything but passport for a border run to obtain a new 90 day stay.

4. You can not extend your visa. You will need a new visa and if issued it would be to visit wife and require marriage certificate/recently signed copy of her ID card and money in a Thai bank account (200k baht is reported to be required by Penang). Home register could also be required.

Thx lopburi3 for your nice answer :o

So like I understand to do new visa O on family visit after one year, I will have to come back home to my country, even I am married with thai and get income every month ?

You can likely obtain a new visa in Penang with 200k in bank or Singapore with 400k in bank. Otherwise a trip outside of southeast Asia may be required.

''4. You can not extend your visa. You will need a new visa ''

I believe this is a mistake. multi entry non-immi type O visas can be extended by 9 months during the period of the last 90 day entry .

His wife does not live in Thailand and he is under age 50. On what basis will he extend?

There is no basis. He has to live in Thailand with his Thai Wife

ok i stand corrected , sorry for confusion. didn't realise Thai wife actually has to be present.

Yes the wife has to go to immigration with the aplicant where she will be asked a lot of questions about her relationship with him.
