What ceasefire?

Sooner or later Iran will have to negotiate a better settlement for the rest of the world . Apart from being illegal i.e. against maritime law, the current toll level is unsustainable as a permanent fixture. The whole world would unite against them as economies broke down.

Singapore has already said it will refuse to pay as it is illegal, and they quote the Straits of Malacca as an example.

Pipelines may be a short term answer for oil if they can build them, but they won’t work for LNG.

China is the big winner here as everything will be paid in Yuan, and possibly crypto.

Trump has surely f***ed the petro dollar, and thereby the US economy.

Normal to have conflcting opinion on how the war should be fought on both sides. Iran President Pezeshkian who is close to the Supreme Leader is more dovish while the IRGC hard-line commanders want to escalate and continue to fight. Similar fractures in US where majority are against the war and even more against ground troops. Growing noises to invoke the 25th. The IRGC don't have the authority to decide on the Strait and it was closed because Israel violated the ceasefire plan.

I was referring to Iran's ability to prevent a successful occupation of Kharg Island by U.S. forces. I believe this is why a ground operation has not taken place.
