NLA committee confident new military laws will raise living standards of military personnel

An ad hoc committee under the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) says drafts of laws concerning privileges of military personnel can boost morale and raise the standard of life of military officers.

Chairman of the Committee Gen.Pathomphong Kesornsuk (ปฐมพงษ์ เกษรศุกร์) spoke on the progress of the drafts of five laws which include revised definitions of military officers, pensions for the retired officers, and salary increases for those whose work define high risks.

In addition, after the laws have been enforced, the National Salary Committee will no longer be responsible for salaries of military personnel.

Gen.Pathomphong also expressed confidence that the drafts of five laws will be approved by the Cabinet.
