All as part of the context of where and when an embassy might assist...

... Running out of money - in this context means having no access to money.....

But... keep this up - You’re about one Allen key away from complete collapse and its an amusing watch.

In my first comment, I already stated that it´s a loser that just can´t help himself.

A textbook case of performative indifference - apparently I’m so insignificant you felt compelled to rage-type a public announcement just to let me know...

.... You’re coming across as a few meatballs short of an IKEA platter there, Sven.

You are really funny Richard, spreading such deep words with no knowledge at all. It´s just another word salad made by the professional in this forum. Keep up the good work!

Let´s call BS on this one. the guy would only need 2 phone calls. One to the embassy and one to a friend that can support him with 500 baht to get to Pattaya. Probably just another broke dude that thought he could hack it in Thailand.

How to call without money and without a phone?

This guy is no doubt distressed.

And to call his situation BS shows a lack of empathy.

He is psychological unstable. It's about humanity to help him🙏

this guy has simply mental issues and should stay in a psychiatric clinic in Schwarzwald area

If you are choosing to be a bum, do it in your own home country.

Sorry, no expert at all... just another humble newbie 🤗

'Let's' indicates the same as we or us, i.e. plural.

I haven't authorized you to make statements on my behalf.

Your claims of 'only 2 phone calls' make big assumptions. It's always possible a call to any embassy in a situation like this will produce no help at all.

Also, maybe he has no friends in Thailand who are prepared to give / loan him 500Baht. A big assumption on your part. And nowadays 500Baht doesn't produce much re travel or food / water etc.

There's a German consulate in Pattaya (North Pattaya Road). Embassies and consulates do offer assistance, but they don't hand out quick cash. Instead, they look for relatives and friends who can donate or provide financial help. The Thai police also offer assistance if contacted. I suspect he's already spent his money and still wanted to stay longer. I can understand that. But without addressing the underlying problem, it's just foolish.

hmmmm

I'd have had this resolved after 5 days

And had my plan executed in 3 or less...

Yawn, too far stretched to me, sorry

It's ok for you though. The 90-day visa exempt is still in place.

But the "underlying problem" is being addressed. They're killing the 90-day visa exempt so there's less risk of getting caught 'living the dream' and ending up pished and broke.

First, I don´t need any authorization form you nor your teenage level misconceptions. If you think about it "Let´s" or "Let us" can also be read as a suggestion, right. So, don´t worry little boy, I haven´t done anything without your highly regarded authorization. Your integrity is kept up to your high standards! Now, when we got that little issue cleared and out of the air, we can sort out what you could have found out by just reading already posted material in this thread before jumping the gun on a seriously uneducated reply.

Yes, I claim only 2 phone calls. After that is has been shared that there is an honorary consulate in Pattaya, which makes it even less complicated. Yes, it will produce help, because when given the information the embassy/consulate will be able to verify you, and make a transfer of money to Thailand from your home country account, that you will be able to collect at the embassy/consulate. Another scenario would be to contact a family member/friend in Germany that, if he is broke, can help him to get home again. I was never talking about any friends in Thailand, so no assumption there at all. Only the facts, boy! The 500 baht was also only to be able to take himself to the embassy in Bangkok and maybe eat a fried rice during the time. Now that´s not needed as there is a consulate available where he is.

All he would have to do is call his credit card provider, or bank, and they would likely express mail a new credit card for him, under the circumstances. Correct?

Correct. They can also issue you an emergency credit card number, that would allow you to book a flight back home.

Quite a divergence of opinions on this one.

On the one hand an individual in desperate straits unable to help themselves due to a pretty much total mental breakdown.

On the other hand, a dossier who’s story of living rough for five weeks doesn’t quite add up and who’s financial predicament could be solved, albeit perhaps not easily.

There’s evidence for both so both are plausible. We will never know which is true unless his eventual fate gets reported.

But it’s been fun to speculate.

Aren't tourists required to have a return ticket, when arriving in Thailand?

These people doubting this man's sincerity i would like to see sleeping on the beach with no water no money and no phone.Until proven otherwise give him a chance at least. He won't be the first to experience this terrible behavior.
