Bank account on overstay
The real question is, do you intend to clear the overstay and continue to stay here or are you fixing to leave the country and never come back. What is the end game of this because obviously staying in Thailand on overstay is not going to be a good long-term option It is highly unlikely anything would happen to the account while you were on overstay and you should be able to go in and withdraw the funds and/or close the account if you wanted to. -

Report Crab Omelette Scandal: Michelin Chef Faces Jail Over B4,000 Dish
Yep.. I am serious... I know a Thai chef and food critic who once visited the restaurant. I argued that the Crab Omelette was ridiculously expensive, while he insisted that the crab meat came from the “best part of the crab” – the claws – and was inherently costly. He estimated, several years ago, that the omelette contained around 800 baht worth of crab meat alone. My wife has eaten there and said the omelette was great but arguably over-priced, though it wasn't 4000 baht... she also found the staff to be unpleasant, arrogant, and rude and vowed never to return. Still, if someone sees the price and orders, they can hardly complain. Earlier reports suggest the omelette is listed on the menu at anywhere from 1,500 to 4,000 baht, with customers given the option to choose which price to go for. My suspicion is that, in the case of the recent complaint, the diner was presented with a choice, answered without fully paying attention, and then experienced bill shock. Personally, I still think the place is far too expensive for what it offers, which is why I’ve never been. But the notion of arresting an 82-year-old over the prices in her restaurant seems like the kind of knee-jerk reaction only Thai authorities could produce. -

Retirement visa using the monthly income
I don't know who told you that misinformation, but I give them three thumbs down for the bad info 👎👎👎 Sounds like whoever told you that doesn't know their a•• from their elbow and I would be suspect taking any advice from them. At the end of 2018, early 2019 the United States Australia and the UK embassies in Thailand all stopped issuing the affidavit of income from a broad notary letter. Because of this, the immigration office came up with an addendum to the clause to meet proof of funds via monthly income. That was to transfer the minimum required amount into a Thai bank account in your name only from abroad, each month, every month, for the previous 12 months before you apply for your next extension. All the transfers have to code as international transfers or you have to prove the money originated from abroad. This is how it works: If you come from a country whose Embassy here no longer issues the affidavit of income from a broad notary letter that means in order to use monthly income method for an extension you have to do international transfers each month, every month, for the previous 12 months before you apply for your extension. What that means is you cannot use monthly income by transfer method to get either the in country 90 day Non-O visa or for the very first yearly extension from the Non-O. That is because you need to have 12 months of previous transfers. Typical Bank documentation is the standard Bank letter, a 12 month detail transaction print out, and an updated Bank book the date you apply for the extension. Note: if your transfers do not code in the bank book as International origin you will have to get a credit advice from the bank showing the money trail as originating from abroad AFAIK, every immigration office will accept monthly income by International transfer for extensions based on retirement, although some will no longer accept monthly income method by transfer for extensions based on marriage. They only allow legally working inside the country for monthly income proof or the banked money method. -
