It's always some A/O with no shirt on - GO THE <deleted> HOME A/O!!!!

Dad always told me, never bring a piece of rebar to a sword fight.

So disappointed that Muay Thai is shown to be useless.

It was weird, I've seen better Muai Thai use from security guards. And this guy is a trainer. Maybe he's also a samurai.

how to get yourself killed in Thailand 101

Right on both points. A nanny-state bred , narcissistic youth travelling abroad with no awareness or any street smarts. Will this be a learning experience for him? I doubt it, too dumb.

He brought a sword because his gun was out of bullets.

Or because a gun is too quick, and a sword inflicts slow, excrutiating pain.

"The Daily News reported that authorities have not released details about the foreign man’s identity and it remains unclear whether any counter-complaint has been filed."

Seems like Thai authorities are going the same way as those in the UK in not releasing details of attackers, although at least it does say that they were foreigners.

This is what happens when idiots meet idiots.

No, it's just your jokes lack humour.

Phuket people maybe.

People don't usually go get a sword from the armoury at home as a defensive measure!

It was a Thai who had the sword.

It's similar story line to..... what animal would survive in a fight, a salt water crocodile or a great white shark.

Not really.

Both of those are intelligent creatures 🙄

What would the Thai have done without the Brit holding the bar ? and why go home and come back with a sword ? it didn't look like he was using it in self defence either.

Both sides at blame here. The foreigner behaved like a dangerous entitled muppet and should be deported after a reality check at the Bangkok Hilton whilst waiting for his processing for being a complete Richard, and the Thai guy should do jail time for being a belligerent idiot with a superiourity complex that had his manchild face threatened after being exposed that being a "Muay Thai instructor" wasn't enough to sort it, then went home to get a sword and wanted to escalate and get revenge... despite his lies. Done and dusted.

Waikun said he warned the riders about road use

Another Thai who wants to play policeman with the foreign visitors. Does he ever, ever open his yap to his fellow Thais about their poor riding and driving skills? Like the taxi guy in Pattaya who got mounted like a dog by an Arab who also got his ass kicked.

And who is raising these young Brits? Are they single mothers on benefits? The blend of entitlement and arrogance displayed by this demographic shouldn't be on display in foreign countries.

He's inflicted grievous bodily harm with that sword.

That's way beyond self-defence.

As you say, lost face, so the man-child behaviour set in at 50 years old.

It was a deliberate act; he went home and came back with a bloody sword. He needs jailing.

In other words, Little Thai Ego was looking for trouble🤫

How people can be this violent

I doubt this has anything to do with the 30/60-day tourist entry. Much more likely caused by the idiotic 5-year visa available to drunken would-be warriors to pretend they are training for Muay Thai.

Another incident in Phuket's "sporting" street involving a foreign idiot. Hooning down that narrow street on a bike deserved a roasting from a local. If it was a French Algerian, the supporters here would be non-existent.

Both returned with deadly weapons for a dust up in a street where hand to hand martial arts are practised. Both deserve lengthy jail time. I doubt the one who left will ever return.

Unfortunately not, that's definitely a British accent.

Going shirtless is disgraceful for a tourist as a guest in the host country. Deport him , thailand does not need such white trash and is not for sale. Enough is enough .

If you go shirtless in Singapore city other than on the beach, you get a ticket .

Thailand should enforce that rule . I have seen many men going shirtless and women in bikinis in coastal cities a distance away from the beaches.

The locals of Benidorm and Magaluf really should stop protesting about tourism.

Take back these Bendirom Brits.

It’s a British accent.

There is something seriously wrong with British culture over the past few years. Why are so many (not all) so violent and racist ?

Why can’t they behave and respect another counties culture ?

It was the Brits that needed the 15 day visa reduction. Just off the scale with poor behaviour.

Have some respect.

I consider a metal pole and a sword a fair fight.

Next time this thai has an Argument will he slip off home grab his sword and sort out the argument, as the last time he did it there was no come back from the Police, and he will believe its acceptable to do it.

However, as an aside, all this stuff will go away after the visa on arrival is lowered to 30 days and not 60... even lower for some other nationalities. Way-to-go on the critical thinking solution ideas.

"During the ensuing confrontation, the tip of the sword carried by Waikun reportedly struck the foreign man’s arm, causing a deep cut."

So it was the sword's fault - not the Thai's?
