There are some smart users there. Debate over if any criminal offences had been committed???? 😂

Assault with a weapon is a criminal offence, the Thai would be able to plea self defence

Ok, you didn´t get it. What I meant was that it is no discussion needed as it clearly is a criminal offense.

And the Thai has no chance in hell to claim self-defense, as he went home to get a weapon, and went out again. He should stay home and called the police.

Agreed... The confrontation was also reportedly 'instigated' by the Thai man.

It was reported on The Thaiger that the Thai Muai Thai instructor warned two foreign (British) men who were riding by side (apparently slower than he wanted so he couldn't pass) - its unclear exactly what happened after that...

.. We can speculate...

  • Was his warning ? Polite.... Please don't ride side by side you are slowing traffic ?

  • Or was his warning more far more aggressive and triggered a conflict ?

I'd guess the later - and when the conflict occurred - he didn't expect to lose because he is a Muai Thai instructor.

So was this one of those examples of locals using any excuse to get aggressive with a foreigner ?

Then it turned out the foreigner could handle himself - so the Thai Muai Thai instructor suffered a loss of face - he went home and returned with a sword (must have lived very close by).

Defo more to the story here regarding the build up and initial confrontation.
