June 20Jun 20 All this property they about to confiscate will be just left there to rot, after 3 months the jungle takes over, Who's going to buy it? Thai's wont buy it unless they have a fire sale, I don't see anybody buying property in Thailand in the future and not at the current prices, All the confidence will have gone, Leaving the foreigners thinking what else will they do? I always thought in the back of my mind something like this will happen, they will close the door on these loopholes in the law, And sure enough it's happening,

June 20Jun 20 In my opinion this is the same show that many of us have seen for countless years. In other words, satisfy the nationalism of the people or in this case those who own the rest of the best located land in Phuket in this case the Th / Ch, but not an easy job avoiding disruption of the brown envelope's because then the reaction will be worse a punishment than some nominee companies will experience.Felt
June 20Jun 20 If they were serious about this issue they should start by investigating all the law firms employing farang lawyers who are putting foreign buyers into these nominee setups.
June 20Jun 20 Without the assistance of government authorities, many of these companies would not exist. Why don't we begin with the departments that gave their approval? Because this is just another instance of corruption as long as these individuals hold their jobs. If we catch you today, you will either have to pay your "fines" or we will close your firm. After paying fines, the company will presumably keep running until the next "crackdown" by a fresh group of sharks.

No Foreigners buying up land and houses raising the prices so they are not affordable to more Thai's. I've seen it in 3 countries personally. Foreigners start moving in, have Zero clue what local Fair Market Value is and say "It's cheaper than my Home Country" and buy it. The locals are forced to pay more and get pushed to the outskirts of the city or to the least desirable areas.Thai's call it a win. Better no body gets to have it then a bunch of foreigners taking over their country as they see it.

I'd bet dollars to donut holes that there are local officials and associated business entities twirling their moustaches and rubbing their hands together, waiting for those properties to get confiscated so they can have them.
