Agreed. I am curious, is managing or owning a cannabis farm a protected profession? I wonder what kind of visa one applies for at 33 for this kind of profession?

Once it seemed like it took me an hour to drive a mile, another I had a conversation with Jesus, much to the amusement of my daughter.

Did he give you the secret of life?

Nah, just laughed and said not to use it anymore. I listened.

It seems he ran a business in the area, so he wasn’t a visitor in the tourist sense of the word.

The reduction of days for a tourist visa doesn’t appear relevant to this case

And the young woman aka La Tarte Fatale? What was her business? Shishkabobbing?

Someone catch me up here... Have they actually determined whodunnit?

If the guy "owns" (or just operates) a big cannabis farm nearby, they probably have a long list of candidates to interview.

RIP

Brits again!😊

One thing to remember is that more Brits visit Thailand than maybe any other farang nationality. Pre-COVID numbers suggested that nearly a million Brits made visits to Thailand per annum. And how many incidents involving Brits do we hear about? In the several hundreds per annum?

I suspect that the relaxing of the rules on cannabis attracted a new demographic, and also that some of them are the Benidorm-Brigade.

This is what's posted, "Officers said only the couple were inside the house at the time of the incident." With all the CCTV here they can look back and see who's been where pretty easily. of course anything's possible but it seems to all point at her.

Not really the Benidorm brigade - they have always gone to pattaya. Its the computer game playing loner loser types from all nations who think that smoking pot makes up for their complete lack of personality. the low grade dealers like this kid who decider to have a pot farm and play barry big <deleted>. Dull people polluting the place thinking they are cool.

Look at the first picture of the girl. She's got the neck and hands of a 65 year old. Why is that relevant? Hard core drug users often look decades older than their chronological age and do bizarre things. I wonder if she will be able to cry her way out of this one.

Oh, and note that she is tattooed.

And tattoos make a difference. 😤 What a 🤡

Yes, I read your post, you split the posters into two camps. So, were you referring to everyone but me?

Secondly, murky world of drug dealers... unless someone put her up to the job, it's a domestic scene and your post is a load of nonsense.

Thank you for your attention in this matter. Please don't let me have to repeat myself.

As to experiences with women, I love women and have had a lot of experience with them. Hasn't affected me negatively at all. The fact that I can see what is in front of me and not be blinded by my own narcissistic tendencies is somewhat helpful.

That's why, I don't ever need to sink to P4P. I can spot the wrong 'uns from a mile off. Even the ones posting here.

Your posts seem to move tangentially and abruptly from topic to topic and demonstrate a lack of understanding as to what others are putting across. I have to say they are very hard to follow and lack a narrative or thread. They seem to add nothing to the discussion. References to women seem to be common, often bitter, and you take offence when none has been given, not just by me but by other posters too.

I hope you don't take offence (again) but are you, perhaps, in a manic phase?

Thank you for your concern 😊

I'm sorry that you find my posts hard to follow. Perhaps when you grow up and attain a level of emotional intelligence, they may become clear to you.

I think that I did understand your point, in that some professions are more dangerous than others. Effectively you are suggesting the policemen in Thailand are more likely to be killed by their wives because of the people in which they come into contact. 😊

It sounds unfortunate, in your case, that you are experiencing bitterness from reading my comments about this case.

From my side, I love women and do my best for them. Happy with that and my relationships. I'm not the one experiencing bitterness.

Whatever gave you the impression that I had taken offence over something? This is a discussion board. We discuss. We agree. We disagree. So?

The Brit guy that lumped the Tuk Tuk driver in Phuket....ran a ganga shop...did you see the absolute anger and hatred in his face and what he was saying and the way he was acting...2+2= 4 in that case also... young, British, dealing in ganga, too many coincidences to say that weed is not connected to both these violent outbursts

I have no idea what you are talking about. It doesn’t appear relevant to my post.

My own thoughts are cannabis farm, is that a good business to be in when drug legislation is cracking down on it? Is the farm legal? 85,000 baht a month rent for a house.... I think someone was living dangerously and some sort of a breakdown was likely. Drugs just removed the brakes.

This 100%

Canabis may or may not have contributed to this incident, but relaxing of the rules has attracted even more wronguns to Thailand. Like this wannabe big time charlie.

Why is a 33 year old Brit operating a cannabis farm in Thailand? Live by the sword...

Exactly and it's a stepping stone for harder drugs. It's only weak people that take ganga...

Stepping stone??? I've never did any other drugs than weed!

Thinking about it none of my friends have moved on to coke, heroin etc either, they all still just smoke weed.

Woman willing to take drugs (legal or otherwise) with tattoos on her legs, then blacks out and can't remember what happened is a massive red flag and complete lies... not to mention trying to clear up the evidence after she had a hissyfit.

Lets see if see was off her mind on drugs in the toxicology report even if we won't hear about it... more than likely though.

Many people get so blasted on stuff that they don't remember and black out with no recollation of what they did or what happened... waking up to realise they did something awful be can't remember.

Cannabis...sleepy, hungry or funny, and doesn't make you a nut-job crazy knife stabbing stoner.

That's alcohol, other drugs or mental health.

I'd bet on the 1st two, and maybe some MH issues, and a little weed on top. But the other stuff, not cannabis likely contributed the most to this aggressive violent behavior.

One suspects he rent a rai, planted a load of plants, and then went pruning getting high on his own product. I have no pity or sorrow for a drug dealer being bumped off.

Not sure it's ok to completely dismiss the weed as it may be interacting with the drugs and the genetic predispositions.

Maybe weed + prescription anti-depressant or anti psychotic drugs + pre-existing mental disorder. Maybe more scientific studies are needed.

But that would be bad news for weed smokers. Because it ruins your narrative that it's a completely harmless d

People with depression who manage their condition with medication and maybe therapy can live healthy and productive lives. However, some younger people I have met claim that cannabis helps with depression and anxiety and will use this to self medicate. The truth is that cannabis is a depressant and while it can make a person "feel" better, it is not a good replacement for mental health medication. In addition, like alcohol (also a depressant) too much weed can counteract the effects of depression medication. Like you said, not a good combination.

One of the only positives about relaxing weed rules was that some impoverished Thais might be able to make a living from it.

Then along comes some big shot British dealer thinking he can make himself richer and live like a king in the LOS. No sympathy from me.

I'm a Brit myself btw before I get accused of Brit bashing.

That isn't how you grow cannabis in Thailand.

You need greenhouses, cooling, lighting, cloning equipment.

Nobody would pay for cannabis grown in a field!

9 hours ago, boldface said:

The thrust of your post is probably right.

However, these cannabis farms are capital intensive, all indoors, expensive irrigation, fertilisation, pesticides, temperature control and air flow. Commercial farms are not just planted outdoors. Investors are required.

In this kind of sweeping generalization, one might also exclaim: "Those brainless British kids again!"

The vast majority of young people in this great country are decent, but it is a fact that disastrous exceptions are more frequent among its citizens than elsewhere.
