Exactly.

It was a coconut under a tree.

It hardly looks like a proper shrine

Now I'm confused.

When I cycle past a village intersection or the rear wall of a temple, and spot the dozens of discarded spirit houses dumped in the ditch, are these proper shrines?

Yes, very much a storm in a teacup and exhibits the number of busybodies we have looking for something to get bothered by.

Are the piles of trash left by the roadside by local tourists tidying their car offerings too!

Indeed. When I moved into my house I filled two large sacks with rubbish left in the grass verge outside. And every week when I put the rubbish out for collection there are several items I have to add that have been tossed away by the self-righteous locals. Any excuse to rant about foreigners ... nice way to treat their 'guests' as we are constantly told we are, even by foreigners contributing to this site.

If they are dumped in a ditch, probably not

Only a video and NO POINTING? I’m very disappointed.

But they didn't commit any offence so there's nothing "still to come".

No offence? Who said that? The police? How do you know? You asked the police? Interesting

How do I know? I can read, I, nor anyone else, needs to ask the police.

It is not an offence to interfere with/move/take photographs of items left on the beach in public as in this case.

The individuals leaving those items on the beach in the first place might be the ones who are committing an offence under the public cleanliness statute!

Crime of the century, this is. And folks here and on other SM getting all excited about a lowly coconut.
