Foreign Tourists Clash in Pattaya Soi Buakhao

Featured Replies

According to Pattaya police, the incident began after reports of a disturbance in Soi Buakhao, a busy nightlife area in Chon Buri province. Officers arriving at the scene found a male foreign national, believed to be around 40 years old and reported by police to be British, with facial injuries including a cut eyebrow and a wound to the bridge of his nose. He was bleeding heavily and appeared heavily intoxicated, shouting and refusing assistance.

A second man, described by authorities as a dark-skinned male aged approximately 30, was also involved. Police said both parties were initially separated to prevent further violence and taken to the police station for further questioning. Officers also coordinated with rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya to provide first aid, but the injured man reportedly refused treatment and continued to argue with officers.

Police said the injured man questioned why he had been detained separately from the other party and threatened to contact the British embassy, while continuing to behave erratically due to intoxication. Officers explained that separating the individuals was a standard safety procedure to prevent further clashes during transport and processing.

Witnesses reported that a group of three foreign nationals had been arguing loudly in the area earlier in the night. Security staff from a nearby venue reportedly attempted to intervene before the confrontation moved onto the street outside nearby shops. One witness said two men appeared to have assaulted the injured party, though the exact trigger for the dispute remains unclear.

Preliminary police information indicates that the injured man may have been carrying a knife and threatening others. During the confrontation, the weapon was allegedly taken from him, and he was struck with the back of the blade during the struggle, resulting in his injuries. Police said the situation was brought under control after members of the public alerted authorities.

Investigators have confirmed that both individuals will remain under detention and observation until they are sober enough to provide full statements and identity themselves. Officers will then conduct detailed interviews, gather evidence, and determine whether any charges will be filed based on the findings.

  • I'm surprised weed use hasn't been blamed yet 🤣 Joking aside, anyone using a knife aggressively needs to be locked up, too many people have lost lives and been injured by weak people using knives.

Another fun night in the Family friendly resort town of Pattaya

How deep was the BIB’s laugh at this threat - a quick chuckle and shake of the head, or more Robert DeNiro Cape Fear from the belly laugh?

An endless stream of UKers involved in violence. As soon as you hear their voice, just walk away. Don't take chances being around them.

Police, please check out the CCTV if available.

If definite proof one of them attacked the other, especially with a weapon, then minimum 1 year jail, plus deportation for 10 years.

Scum has to be dealt with. A short, sharp shock.

Would they behave like this in Singapore or Vietnam?

Probably why not ?

Singapore has tens of thousands of police cameras, plus they cane and imprison for violent offences.

Vietnam has a strong police presence, plus severe penalties.

For anyone interested that's the Nature View Hotel there with De Bua in the background at the T-junction with Soi 15.

They're standing outside Thank Bar.

I wouldn't be bragging that I knew the bars names on soi bukhao. I made up my own. The one on the corner of soi buakhao and soi diana is the Loser Beer Bar, or LBB for short.

We keep hearing about incidents like this where foreigners are involved, but we don't hear anything about what action the authorities took in response!

Cases pop up in the news with dramatic details, then disappear with no follow‑up on charges or penalties.

Consistent public reporting on actual penalties, especially when cases end in jail time or deportation, might just send a more sobering message to the small minority of foreigners who insist on behaving like intoxicated instigating idiots in public.

Ahhh, children will be children!

Well. in fairness, it appears that one of the "dangerous" other foreigners was responsible for the slashing. One of those "dark skinned males" we are warned about. 🤐 I will rest much easier now that I know, that I can avoid danger if I avoid "dark skinned males"......

Why are you bragging about knowing the bars there that you frequent?

Just driving by it was obvious about the LBB. Lots of tables with one guy sitting by himself at each one. I haven't been in a bar for a long long time.

What are the odds the other one turns out to be British, too?

I find the bogan tattooed Aussies much worse

I remember being in a bar a few years ago where a tattoed Aussie was telling a story and two pommy guys nearby said to him " your the dogs B....cks mate , your the dog bxxxllocks

The Aussie guy jumped up and grabbed the pommy guy by the collar and shouts out " what did you call me Cxnt ?

"Dogs balls ??! You f....n Muppet " .

I ran out fast as I could, I locked myself in my room

They don't usually show up in Pattaya. If it was a French national, then yes, a strong likelihood. Pattaya is where the pudgy white chavs and lager louts go. If I am wrong, I will gladly take responsibility. 😆

Quality tourists in Pattaya as usual... guess reducing the number of days for a free visa on arrival is working out well.

They haven't done it yet. But just wait, when they do these stories will never be seen again.

I think Pattaya City council could make a good case for re introducing stocks for the punishment of inebriated miscreants. Set them up at the mouth of Tree town under a canopy . Who knows , when sobered up they might like each other.

This is why I never visit Pattaya.

There is just too much erratic behavior in that area.

Why wait, or trust them, to identify themselves? They have access to facial recognition and fingerprints from entry into Thailand. They should have been identified back at the station not long after arrival.

good reason to go home early and avoid the 3 am fights...

Weird. I've spent over 10 years of my life in Pattaya. In my younger days even used to party a bit. Never seen a fight. Never been threatened. Never a problem.

Yes Pattaya has a lot of drug use and prostitution. Yes if you hang around Walking Street at 4 AM your odds of seeing something kick off leap dramatically. Pretty sure there are areas of Bangkok that share the same problems. Funny listening to some of you having an attitude about Pattaya. Heck I feel safer there than in many big cities in the west.

Really ? Nooo....getaway. I keep hearing its a family resort and a big hub for sports, not to mention that when the local authorities go lookibg for evidence of prostitution they never find any.

You must be thinking of somewhere else.

Might go and investigate for myself though , just to get to the truth of it.

"while continuing to behave erratically due to intoxication"

Enough said..............moving on 🥱
