Cannabis becomes legal in June 2022 and with no vote in the Thai parliament , suddenly becomes officially re-criminalized in June of 2025 . Making all those that purchased it legally criminals over night. So with these new laws in place in (some locations) that were given three years at last report to change over to medical sales. My hunch is many legal users are more confused than ever as to what is currently legal today.

Hearing reports of foreigners being stopped by police at various train stations and in public and searched with dogs.

As always in my opinion the government has once again made a confusing mess instead of perhaps copying other places like Washington state in America. Somehow has made it a crime for a person to enjoy themselves in private like drinking a beer. You have to have medical issues now. It only took a few idiots thinking they could just walk onto a plane with a few pounds to ruin it for everyone.

Is it true about reports of foreigners being searched at train and bus stations or while just walking . Seems certain media outlets have a difficult time reporting fact from fiction. Certain officials seem unable to stop making up stories.

The issue that caught my eye in the recent change is that "buying from an unlicensed vendor" carries the same potential penalty as smoking weed in public.

So USER is at fault not the shops ? Not the government for suddenly demanding you are NOT allowed to enjoy yourself but must be medicated and checked over first. Why do I get the feeling that the Thaksin people are behind much of the confusion and lies in the media. Talking out of two sides of their mouth while nothing on the ground has really changed. Hopefully the head clown involved with all the lies will be exposed before there are any more arrests for using or selling legally. Stop using the words along with the Thai media decriminalization is and never was correct, it is 100% as legal as it was in 2020. Nothing has changed only the amount of harassment many of the shops and users are having to deal with because of the LIES!

They use drug sniffing dogs in the San Francisco airport too. Walked right past my luggage with rosin and a preroll inside, because I was traveling domestically to another cannabis legal US state.

Your friend might be jumping to conclusions on what the dogs were looking for, once again due to the very important resident who stays there periodically. 😃

A US Customs and Border Protection sniffer dog has again made headlines after uncovering prohibited items, including a dead monitor lizard, in luggage arriving from Thailand at Los Angeles International Airport.

The CBP Office of Field Operations on Monday shared a photograph of CBP K9 Maisy, a beagle trained to detect agricultural products, posing with the seized items. The caption reads: "If you discovered all this in a suitcase, wouldn't you be this happy?"

According to the agency, Maisy alerted officers to a suitcase containing 50 pounds (22 kilogrammes) of meat products, including raw meat, as well as 33 pounds (14kg) of mangoes, garlic, bamboo shoots and banana shoots.

What makes you think I am a drunk? I do not understand why you are making such a big fuss about it. You can easily check that recreational cannabis was never legalized in Thailand. You need a valid medical prescription, you must buy it from a licensed supplier, you may only carry the amount prescribed for you, and you must follow the rules about where it can be used. It is that simple.

Please show us the proof . Why are you making such a fuss about it and if I or some one of legal age wishes to smoke some in the privacy of their own home or with a friend ? Have some great sativa going to smoke with a cup of good coffee and read a book before sleep.

If they had just legalized only edibles back in 2022 there wouldn't be any uproar. I'm definitely biassed though because I don't like smoking it for may reasons. Many hate the smell and people indulging in public. Taking your kids to a the beach and the smell of reefer and lighting up a joint is frustrating for many.

It’s not going away. I said back in ’23, whatever decision the gov makes, it will be one that brings in the most money.

That is what’s happening. You get your stuff same as before, after you Pay a doctor to give you approval to purchase, then you pay for the product.

The gov plan seems to mirror other country’s medical cannabis program.

News for you. I do not need to provide anything, because I am not the one who needs to prove anything. The burden is on those who want to smoke or consume the herb without legal prescription.

searched ? maybe, but for what ? which bus and train stations? I have not heard on one instance of anybody being arrested or prosecuted for possession of weed , it has never happened , when it does , it will be all over the news,

I won't be getting mine in a wad at all, I live out in the sticks and smoke discreetly , always have done, 40+ years of discretion due to "illegality " is a difficult habit to shake off. Should it become illegal again It won't really affect me I'll grow my own again and have kept in touch with old and trusted contacts. Are there really people who only started smoking after the legalisation? I don't know any , everybody I know who smokes has been at it for decades
