On top of all this there is the increased air pollution from not only these fires, but the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. The smoke from those Wildberries fires was unbelievable, but will pale in comparison if the gulf oil fields are blown up.

Don’t worry about it, nature has pretty much contained human mischievous tendencies within the planet’s atmosphere so as to not disturb the outer reaches of the planet.

As to being 'brainwashed'? That came about via education, and again took thousands of years! How one takes in that education, and uses it to advantage, is key. Ask yourself this, what is the one thing wrong with this world, which no government wants to admit?

If a majority of governments can admit that one problem and act upon it, the world will be a much better place because of it.

They shut down the economy due to covid. But, burning cane is ok. Can't they see the effect it is having on the air? Do they care one iota? Don't the leaders live here too? Why are they MIA? Why don't the "do nothing guys" do something for a change?

When the crop burning starts to kill the population, and lowers the quality of life for those of us who don't die, isn't it time to take action? We just don't need the sugar. Shut down this toxic, heinous industry. Lock up the farmers. Sieze their land. Do whatever it takes.

The sceptic will argue that anything we do could not possibly influence the climate, or effect the atmosphere. The planet is simply too large, and the population is too small to have any effect. Let the ships dump whatever they want into the ocean. The ocean is simply too large for anything we do to damage it. 

This frees them to buy as many plastic bottles as they please, drive filthy diesel vehicles, and behave as if nothing effects anything. 

It's not us. It is just a cycle. We are not responsible. So many people around the world behave as if we have seven alternative planets we can shift to as soon as we foul this one to the point where the quality of life has diminished dramatically.

Controlled burning can remove this material and return some minerals to the soil through the ash.

The real problem is not burning itself, but the total effect of human activity, how often we burn, how much we burn, and under what conditions. This debate is not only about climate change. It is about what we are doing to the natural habitat that allowed us to evolve in the first place, and how quickly we are making it more difficult for us to live here. It may only take a few natural catastrophes happening at the same time, combined with our own activity, to push us over the edge. The core problem is still too many people and too much activity harming our home.

I agree with a lot of what you said and that's why I think declining populations around the world are one of the greatest things to happen to this planet in the past few centuries.

I agree with that sentiment and I think in general mankind is not moving forward despite technology. Sometimes it feels as if we are quickly marching backwards toward Cro Magnon II.

I read that most of these fires are started intentionally by czaries. Personally I'd bring back capitol punishment for the offence.

Almost everything we do in life is voluntary and very little of it is compulsory so if you're finding AN depressing I might suggest looking elsewhere. Or you might want to look within to determine why it is that you're so easily depressed.
