Also, the Bangkok Community Theatre, Culture Collective Studio, and FULLFAT Theatre for English language plays. We saw Placido Domingo in the Thailand Culture Center last year. There is a Comedy Club Bangkok in Sukhumvit 33/1.

@Rockyroad if still there, pop over to Cera Garden Cafe, (15 mins away) they have very nice rice w/curry dish. Don't get massaman & roti, as nothing but small bowl of sauce and bits of meat. If want Roti, get as a side dish.

The muslim restaurant in town is huge and popular. Good value too. 55 baht for massaman and roti or rice.

I found Saphli and Thung Wae Leun beaches to be a bit of a yawn. Not as nice as Ban Krut.

The motorbike riding in Ban Krut is much better as you can hug the coast on quiet roads. In Chumphon you go inland most of the time on big roads.

Rak is common. Thais can say both R and L. The issue is no direct translation so lots of words have misleading English spellings.
