Is Thailand mostly boring?

Mate, only a kook could feel bored with a bird like that sat opposite. We can only imagine her lounging there questioning every life choice she made that led to accepting your offer to get on the dole. She must be regretting every second. Right about now she’s probably thinking the financial struggles back in her little village in Isaan were nowhere near as miserable as spending every day stuck with an unhappy crank like you just for a wee bit of dosh.

If that's true, then by definition you've not done as well as you could have. Unless of course you're both literally the top (or bottom) of the market. That might be contributing to your feelings in your op.

It sounds like you have dating issues.

You sound jealous that I have a girlfriend and you don't. I can see why they avoid you.

But if you insist, that it is all made up anyway, go ahead as you please.

I am not the person who needs to endure and decipher your mumblings, but I am sure, everybody around you just loves you for the interchangable use of different syllables in words, making up meaning as you go.

I would laugh, if I could see the joke. But, the frigid truth: German women love nobody, nor do we have any homour, and both is true for all of us Germans! 😉

It means darling/my love. Thais swap L and R sounds.

You are trying hard but failing badly. I listen to Thais not random farangs.

Literally, I have given you, in writing, what difference there is in meaning if you just swap 'R' and 'L'; so no, Thai people do not do that, as they are not analphabets, so they know how a word is written.

That for many foreigners, the difference is not great enough to hear, and they are analphabets on top of it, does not paint a pretty picture, but it is what it is.

For me, it would be enough not to seek excuses when wrong, but to master the difference between my incomplete knowledge and what was presented to me.

Again, not doing that does not paint a pretty picture, but you must be happy in your own head... oh no, wait, you are not, according to your OP. Maybe the problem is that you lack in curiosity and you are too shallow to enjoy what is right in front of you.

You can't even spell basic words in English but pretend to be an expert in Thai lol

I learn Thai from Thais thanks not clowns like you.

Mate, as we speak, she’s probably reevaluating every bad decision that landed her here and diligently shopping around for the bigger and better deal every time you look the other way. It won’t exactly be a challenge to find another bloke with a bit more dosh, a bit less self loathing, and at least a passing acquaintance with gratitude.

So don’t act shocked when she vanishes the second some other geezer turns up with a bigger bulge in his back pocket, an actual sense of humor, and a face she can look at without needing to be half cut first. Right now, you’re not exactly competing with the field. You’re competing with the idea of literally anyone else, and somehow you’re still losing.

You keep projecting your own misery. No surprise to see why you are single.

Glad I'm not you.

Well, I am not English; let's see your German then.

I actually learned "Thai from the Thais", and I am happy with it. People actually do understand me, I had a business here for 15 years where Thai was essential.

In your case, you must be close to unintelligible.

But enough bashing you, I do not know you. Maybe you are a nice enough fellow. Just in the question about how Thais speak their 'ร' (r) and 'ล' (l), you are dead wrong.

I watch a German that streams his life in Thailand

Can't understand what he's ever saying but he is definitely nothing like you. He would enjoy anywhere he lived. Depends on the individual

You are wrong. Thais have formal and informal variations of many words. My German is as bad as your understanding of Thai.

Language doesn't matter as much as an overall understanding of life and he doesn't have it. Not a Germany problem it's a him problem

15 years experience and no concept of slang words in Thai. He must have had no Thai friends. The Thais have thousands of slang words.

What difference does it make to you? You're never going to meet me. I'm travelling and you sit in a condo. At 82yo maybe you should look at your options.

I am genuinely grateful for that, thank you. Knowing we will never meet is profoundly comforting to me. It is reassuring when life occasionally surprises one with such welcome guarantees. Since you seem to be in such a generous mood, could you also guarantee that I will never have to meet your big handed LB friend from the photos you posted earlier either? If you could extend that same guarantee to everyone else on this forum as well, I suspect it would be regarded as one of the most thoughtful contributions you have ever made to the community.

The hand is actually very small. Compare the book size to the coconut.

Obviously you are just as dumb and desperate as Keeps.

Obviously you don't have a girlfriend nor any hobbies outside this forum. Maybe go get a eye test.

At 82yo making comments like a teenager about a woman's hand is pretty sad.

Thank god I will never meet you.

Bangkok has definately lost alot of it's charm.

Property developers constantly knocking down charming neighbourhoods to make way for condos and hotels is disgusting. To destroy a countries heritage is shocking, and seemingly nothing done to stop it.

Often you feel like you are going mental with mall after mall. And it's not like it's anything amazing, it's the exact same shops in each mall.

Even going for walks isn't easy with the pollution from vehicles.

For someone speaking Thai you should know the difference between Rah Rua and Law Ling. Maybe get some Thai spelling books for anuban and refresh yourself if so bored. Ratna.

While I hate to agree with @Rockyroad ,

Up in Chiang Mai many locals don't understand if you pronounce correctly.

I've given up calling the wife Pan-Ra-Ya and now it's Pally-Ya.
