He's right, low birth rates are a huge problem. The cause of low birth rate however is the prosperity of females. A female will only have children with a man who she thinks will improve her life economically. Since women entered the workforce and education the pool of men who can accomplish this keeps shrinking, as a result birth rates shrink with it.

So the only solution is to impoverish females, but that would never be done. So this may be the cause of humanity's decline.

Yes, whilst I'm no fan of Islam, the family values of Muslims can be very strong. It is very tragic that there are so many cases of Muslim families moving to the west and the young women then hooking up with some man the family finds inappropriate and this then tears the whole family apart, even to the extent of honor killings and jail. Very sad.

You might be right: Perhaps the UK could be thriving outside of the EU but not for the reasons you imply but for the exact opposite ones i.e. closer integration with the EU is needed.

Switzerland (and Norway) have extensive agreements with the EU. Both countries are part of the EU Single Market, both countries are part of Schengen, both countries align much of their legislation with the EU. Both countries are (relatively) successful.

The UK has none of the above and the suggestion that we should follow the Swiss and Norwegian models in our dealings with the EU would have most arch-Brexiters choking on their cornflakes. Even the minimalist TCA is too much for them.
