Oh Freddie, I love it when you get hussy. Meanwhile, sorry to disturb you while you’re so deeply squabbling with the site’s resident troll, who has at least 10 known user accounts. Alas, I came for the humor, but I stay for your emotional outbursts. I even switched over to caramel flavored popcorn for this special occasion. Please do carry on along that rocky road.

I don't make outbursts, I discuss civilly until a troll starts once again, then I stop. He started in with his usual, which I've known since day one, and as you can see, I stopped replying.

If you are so smart why aren't you running a tech company or inventing a new product?

Yes, you obviously have been brainwashed beyond repair, thinking you can prove there isn't a God. There are no facts to prove otherwise, and only other's opinions you believe for whatever reasons you have.

Many people don't believe in God because they suffered a loss of some kind, or because they think a loving God wouldn't allow harmful things to happen, even though many of those harmful things come from humans. Others believe in what some have said with their theories, that it all happened from a big bang that occurred from nothing. We say it was a big bang, started from God.

Some actually think they're smarter than believers because of their own indoctrinations.

Billions of people believe in God and somehow those that don't think they're smarter , which only shows ignorance. I would never say anyone is stupid because they are atheists. I would just say they're in trouble now and hopefully they see the light. Judging anyone's intelligence because of a belief is stupid.

There have been thousands of clinically dead people who came back and told of a heaven, Jesus or both. There has never been a clinically dead person who came back and proved there isn't a heaven or Jesus, as all they saw was black until they came back to life. Proof? Maybe a little and just adds to our beliefs.

You just don't get it. But even given that, that you lied about what I wrote is disgraceful.

Novanova: It's been many years since "prove a not" (in this case, prove that god does not exist) has been shown to be silly

FredWiggy: Yes, you obviously have been brainwashed beyond repair, thinking you can prove there isn't a God.

Why did you lie about what I wrote? That you have been brainwashed by religious fruitcakes and are unable to think clearly is no excuse.

Poor Fred. He lacks the ability to see how silly he really is. Religion is to blame.

Well done, your abatement is only temporary, of course.

Meanwhile, I hope for your sake the moderators never get the bright idea to start charging you by the word for every word you post. At the rate you produce those epic walls of text, you could be looking at tens of thousands of dollars in expenses every month.

I probably shouldn’t even be posting this, because if they pick up on my suggestion, it could be to your peril. Just imagine the revenue they could generate from all those sprawling literary productions of yours. They could probably feed every poor person in the entire country and still have enough left over to fund another infrastructure project.

So please, for your own financial survival, consider brevity. I’d hate to see you bankrupt yourself, one forum rant at a time.

Now, back to bigger and better things, like your ongoing love affair with that rocky road.

Actually I also can say you just don't get it. You sound like Harris,Rocky, khaosokman, et al, assuming what anyone knows or how they were raised. Read all of what I said, as it isn't a lie. I wasn't just commenting on that one line. I remember all of what a person says and don't skim.

Poor Nova, he lacks the common sense not to judge people he doesn't know. Adults that have it aren't those who assume much of the time. Prove I'm wrong about God or don't bother to comment. Pretty simple. By the way, I followed the catholic religion in my earlier years but basically just a believer in Jesus and God, without any religion needed for that. Placing religion in the equation is only a crutch some use because of what some religions have done in history.

What makes you think I would take you or any others who act like you here seriously, let alone any advice? If you stopped assuming here, you wouldn't have much to say. If you took away the insults, that would make it almost nothing. Reflect on what you've been saying here all along, and see that what I say makes sense and is going by either facts, experience or faith, neither of which can be judged.

Look at what he created and you'll see, first at the good things we enjoy on earth. That many can't enjoy them from diseases, narcissism or depression shows there must be another place waiting, for forever instead of the usual 85 or so years. Yes, there are way too many evil and unnecessary things here, but again if it's but a test it makes sense. Take his side, enjoy a forever with him, or turn your back and only enjoy your 85 or so years and then nothing. I question it all myself and get angry also, but when you're comparing a short time to forever, it doesn't compare.

I just needed a short answer, it seems you are saying god is good and just.

Now explain ….

  • The Great Flood — God destroys virtually all human and animal life, with Noah and those on the ark spared. Genesis 6–9.

  • Sodom and Gomorrah — God destroys the cities with fire and brimstone. Genesis 18–19.

  • The death of Egypt’s firstborn — God causes the deaths of the firstborn throughout Egypt as part of the Exodus story. Exodus 11–12.

  • Ordering the destruction of Canaanite populations — Israelites are commanded to destroy entire populations in certain campaigns, sometimes explicitly including women and children. Deuteronomy 20:16–18; Joshua 6:20–21.

  • The death of Uzzah — Uzzah touches the Ark of the Covenant to prevent it from falling and is immediately killed by God. 2 Samuel 6:6–7.

  • Job’s suffering — God permits Satan to destroy Job’s possessions, kill his children and inflict severe physical suffering as part of a test. Job 1–2.

  • The killing of 185,000 Assyrian soldiers — An angel of the LORD kills the Assyrian army surrounding Jerusalem. 2 Kings 19:35.

  • The punishment of David’s people — After David conducts a census, God sends a plague that kills 70,000 Israelites, despite the census being David’s action. 2 Samuel 24:10–17.

  • Ananias and Sapphira — In the New Testament, God strikes a married couple dead after they lie about money they donated. Acts 5:1–11.

  • Hell and eternal punishment — Jesus and other New Testament writers describe severe punishment for the wicked after death. Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43–48; Revelation 20:10–15.

It seems to me either your god is an evil, capricious, unjust, vicious, vengeful being.

Or he doesn’t exist.

If it’s the former are you sure he is worthy of your worship? Do you want to be going to any kind of afterlife with such an evil being?

All these stories plus all the scientific errors in the Bible prove to me it’s all mumbo-jumbo written by people who simply made up knowledge they didn’t have.

Has God destroyed anyone who didn't deserve it? Are all writings in the Bible accurate? Is all life here for no reason or can it be a test of faith for us? Is he truly a loving God knowing what's best for us or just a narcissist who wants to play with humans? .

That we can't understand most of it is what separates us from God.

If there is an afterlife wouldn't you want to be with a God that has shown his love in some things and made things people can enjoy or without him somewhere else?

Frederica, if you can’t quite manage to escape the gravitational pull of your own religious and moral fanaticism, then at least try to stop taking yourself so seriously. Life is too short for that. It’s supposed to be enjoyed, and the occasional laugh is generally good for the soul.

Take a look at yourself. You tie yourself up in knots, then apparently decide those tight knots aren’t sufficiently holding and proceed to twist them even tighter. Lighten up, mate. I don’t take any of the garbage written here seriously, but I do get a considerable giggle out of the people who do.

Try looking at things from another perspective for a change. Plenty of people come here simply for a bit of banter and a laugh. I’m not here to viciously attack anyone, although there are certainly people who seem to treat that as their primary recreational activity. It’s actually rather sad to watch.

And if you want a particularly good example, look at that malignant site pest with his two dozen accounts that you spend so much of your day arguing with. If your concern is people who do nothing but insult others, I’m rather fascinated that you’ve chosen to spend so many of your waking hours engaging with precisely that sort of nonentity.

There really is more to life than all the people here who manage to wind you up. You don’t have to attend every argument to which you’ve been invited.

The difference is that I clearly understand what the game here is all about. You seem to think every post is a matter of existential importance, which might explain why you’re perpetually outraged by what other people write.

I realize there’s probably no getting through to you, but I’m putting this out there anyway, just in case something miraculous happens and an epiphany finally arrives courtesy of “the will of God.”

If that happens, do let us know. I’m sure it will be a very long post.

How old is god? Is he male? I would rather spend the afterlife with a female.

If god created the universe 12 billion years ago and is male he is very very old.

Yet you believe an old man exists for thar long and want to live with him forever.

Pattaya is probably more about sodomy and gonorrhea.

Your religion is based on where you’re born and who your parents are. When you die you return to how it was before you were born. Unfortunately most people lose their belief in the tooth fairy and Santa but not their man made religion!

Taking your first point, has god destroyed anybody who didn’t deserve it?

Do you believe all the first born children in Egypt were evil and needed killing? What, ALL of them?

Reread my post, in those hundreds of thousands of people god kills, were they all evil?

It’s impossible, young children are innocent and yet they were slaughtered. We are talking about collective punishment, an absolute evil.

Saying we can’t understand it, there’s a higher purpose is no answer at all. We have intelligence, I can understand it, and I can understand the reason why we are told it’s too difficult for us to understand. The answer is very simple, it’s all a fiction and the only way to continue it is to tell you that you can’t understand it.

Occam’s Razor, the answer is simple, it’s fiction.

Wake up and smell the coffee Fred.

IF there is a god (BIG IF) none of these stories in the bible would be true.

You can’t have it both ways, either god is “good and just” in which case the bible is nonsense. Or god is evil, or god doesn’t exist.

So which is it?

And what has "judging people" got to do with the dishonest travesty that religion actually is?

All you've got is the same silly lines over and over again... zero critical thinking, zero evaluation... if we need an example of the genuine harm that religious indoctrination does, you will be an exhibit.

You mean that god who gives little children cancer? Who wants you to get down on the floor and worship him? To pray (beg) for your child to survive their cancer even though he knows already what you want? Tells you what to wear, who to have sex with, what to eat etc? Is that your god?

I came into this world with nothing, and will leave with the same. What I believe in between time, will be influenced by others along the way.

IF, eventually I should arrive at the gates, it will be my choice, to make which path to take, if of course I get that choice. What good will it do me now, to worry about something I know nothing about, and possibly never will? You will know when you are dead, and that will be the time to worry about your choices, possibly!?

We again don't know all of the accuracy of written history, so all we can go by is what we've read. God punished the Pharaoh when Moses gave the Pharaoh a chance to free supposedly thousands. He didn't listen and those children paid for it. i don't think it was right myself, as he could have just punished the Pharaoh and his followers, but again, God knows better than us what works.

You still need to remember the main point of all of this. No matter when a person dies, if they're saved or too young to know right from wrong, they're going to heaven. No one lives much past 100 anyway so it's only a temporary thing before we all die.

That some believe there is no God is on them, for whatever reasons they have, and has nothing to do with believers, and arguing against them isn't going anywhere, as you aren't going to convince a believer to stop believing as it's totally on them. I don't have to wake up as I already see from what I've learned for 70 years what makes sense.

There is no way the universe came to be from nothing. It had to be created, and with an obvious plan in mind. Life is a miracle, and just the human brain for one thing is so much a wonder, and thinking it alone just happened is ludicrous. We have a body, although not perfect, which is still a miracle in how it works. Then you see the millions of other species that were created. All of this just happened? Quite a laugh for those with an open mind.

Do you not see you are doing the same things you accuse me of? You again have no proof otherwise, so arguing in a circle, as has been mentioned, is a waste of time. You believe what you want, and I will what I want, and you aren't going to convince me otherwise. You have been brainwashed yourself I could say, as you are also going by what others have said. You didn't invent atheism.

Try reading what I said slower next time, as you're still missing my points. Skimming has you think I lied about one thing when I was commenting on the whole.

Religion never indoctrinated me. I was taught a certain way, and when I became an adult, it all still made sense then. Adults can change their thinking if you haven't realized it. Including what you did, unless you were taught to be an atheist by your parents.

God doesn't give people anything. This imperfect world has many things that kill, and some kill quickly, as cancer does some children. This is the major point every atheist or God hater is missing. We only live a short time no matter our DNA, diet, exercise program of luck.

Forever isn't a comparison to those 85 years or so, so no matter how long you live, you're going to die, and if you're a believer, go on to a place without disease, pain, sorrow or worries.

That child who died in front of his parents is in heaven, waiting for his family to join him, hopefully them being believers so they also make it there. If there isn't a God, then there will be nothing afterwards. We choose to have faith, looking at the wonders of the world and seeing this was created with a plan.

What does a person have to lose if they're a believer and God doesn't exist? They have lived a decent life, living by God's laws, not hurting anyone intentionally and will die and stop existing. What happens if there is a God and you turn your back on your creator?
