Krub Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Hi, I landed with Singapore Airlines at gate D5 just in front of the immigration desks as usual. There are now 3 entrances to 3 different sections of immigration desks. The far left one was overflowing up to the main area and a frantic immigration officer was yelling at passengers to go to another further section. The far right section was smililarly overflowing The middle section (very narrow and with no access to either side sections if it is not after immigration or via the main corridor) was nearly empty BUT They had a new system of snake queuing for foreign passports in the middle with about only 5 desks manned There were also 5 desks reserved for visa on arrival with no queues and officers looking at the snake doing nothing There were also 4 desks reserved to Thai passport also manned but not used. Who has ever thought of this new system ! in DM we had 2 separate sections and you were only suppose to use the one nearest to your arrival flight. Here now you can use any but they all have the snake system now it seems and it is making it really slow as only a few or fewer than before desks are reserved for foreign passports. I generally arrive at that time and always had empty desks before this new system was installed
samran Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 no doubt copying the LHR system for EU'ers and the rest of us.
james512 Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 That doesn't sound too good. I've arrived in one arrivals section to find it jam packed. I backtracked and jogged round to the next one and found it completely empty. All depends on how many planes are landing at the same time.

I seem to recall that there was a immg line that wasnt as long as the others but was semi hidden and not so obvious to people coming in. Directions?
