buzzer Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I have a friend who's opened a Wedding shop & photo studio in Boput, Ko Samui. In addition to portrait photography & wedding photography, they need to do fast, cheap ID photos for Passports, Visa's, Drivers licenses and, what else? So, asking help from those knowledgeable on the subject, I need to make a complete list, and photo templates for each type of photo, and figure out what the charge should be. I've found out some things - through many hours of searching the internet - but some info still eludes me. I'd rather not go spying on a 1 hour photo place for the info - not polite! 1. Are all ID's to be shot on a white background? 2. Are all ID's to be in color? 3. What documents need photographs? What size is required? How many photos for each document? 4. Am I forgetting anything? This is what I found out through my own experience or looking on the internet. The size for the O-A Visa I have is 4 cm X 6 cm. The first year they asked for 3 photos, but the man only wanted 1 last year. One site said driver's license should be 1" X 1" (inches, why not cm. like everything else.?) How many do you have to take to them? 2? How about the size of photo and # required for proof of residence? Others. Wedding documents, Taxi drivers, student ID's, other licenses requiring photo ID? How many photos and how large? What is a reasonable charge for these? This is not a business next door to Immigration where they can charge top dollar (top baht?). What about smiling? When is this undesirable? Are some of the photos taken at the institutions involved? Ex. student ID's, police ID's govt. official ID's? Thanks for your help. I wish all this info was assembled in one place, but if it is, I haven't been able to find it. If you're around Boput, Ko Samui, stop into their shop - J.J. Sarafina Wedding & Photo - opposite 7/11. They're just starting out, and can use the business. They were originally a wedding gown & tux/tailor shop, but their moving into wedding planning, photography, and studio portraiture as well. Thanks - Buzzer
