Chiang Rai, Phayao, Chiang Mai and Tak are warned of flooding conditions

The Meteorological Department reported at 04:00 hours today (September 8th) that a trough of low pressure lies across Myanmar and Laos. Isolated heavy downpour remains over the North and upper Northeast. People along disaster prone areas in Chiang Rai, Phayao, Chiang Mai and Tak provinces should beware of flooding conditions. Meanwhile, a moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Thundershowers are likely across the Central, East and South during this period.

At the same time, Bangkok metropolis and vicinity would likely see scattered thundershowers and isolated gust throughout the day. The minimum temperature would be 26 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature would be 34 degrees Celsius. The speed of southwesterly winds would be around 15 to 30 kilometers per hour.

There is some heavy flooding reported in Galasin and Yangtalart and the roads are cut to Mukdahan. Also the Ping has risen sharply in the last few days, and is up 30cm about a foot. Time to dust off the waders :o
