I met an Aussie guy who had the same problem his wife had married atleast 6 other blokes ,she always picked fresh off the plane farangs and had the ceremony at home telling them thats how we marry in thailand she even had one of her brothers dress as a monk ,he lost 2,000000, baht and is now talking to a solicter , not alot he can do , as she has never got married at an ampur always this fake ceremony at home ,,

Thailand should spend a little time cleaning up their culture and not worry so concentrate so much on farangs overstaying a visa or two. One sick culture.

But basically...did you 'sign the book' at the District Office (Amphur)? If so you are legally married. YOU had to show a record from YOUR emabassy that you are not presently married but SHE is under no such condition.

If you just did the babble with some local shaman and the family and the water poured over the arm, yada, yada, then it means nothing.

Your main concern ought to be whether you are LEGALLY MARRIED to her. Her ex cop 'husband' may have also been common-law - which again means nothng. So might the latest Swede...

You need to find this out. She's got you by the balls if these other guys aren't married legally to her. And YOU will be responsible for any divorce proceedings...I don;t know whether you can claim fraudulent marriage and get it annulled - os from that poitn yes you need a divorce lawyer. Running away from that won't help you - it could get worse for you!
