Hi,

I really need some advice and all advice and information is greatly appriciated. Since the new law came in last October I have been using tourist visa's.

I have been getting 60 days and extending them for another 30 days.

What do I need ( what proof do I need to show ) and what is the process of applying for a multiple entry non immigrant visa????

Can I get from Vientiane????.

Again all comments and a advice is greatly appriciated.

Kind regards

Jeff

Non immigrant visas in the Asia area would not be issued unless you have specific qualifications (work-spouse-retirement-education or such).

Hi Lopburi,

I have been using this forum for just a short time and you are a star......Two more questions.....If i was to marry my girlfriend....would I then be able to apply for non immigrant visa????.

Am I right in saying, to marry my girlfriend, I just need my passport and off to Bangkok we go or do i need to show funds in bank???.

Regards As Always

It may not get more than single entry type non immigrant visas in the local area - although Penang is reported to issue them again without bank proof.

To get married requires a visit to your Embassy/Consulate to obtain a freedom to marry paper (that you are not married and of good character type blurb which may include some bio data and occupation type information) that is signed by Consulate officer and then translated into Thai and then registered with Ministry of Foreign Affairs - after that you are free to register your marriage in any District Office. You will need that paper, your passport and the girl (she will need her papers) and some locations will want you to have a Thai/English speaker to translate what you have to sign and several witness are required but normally can be found at office.
