Hallo, sorry for my bad English.

Yesterday i was in Ambassy of thailand in Cairo and i as for a tourist visa for 60 days.

They said that the new rules are only 30 days for tourist also in consulate.

I try to said that is...stupid because im Italian and they give to me in airport also 30 days so

i dont understand the difference but, you know the arrogance of the workers in some consulate.

So i ask to see the legal document about this new rules but they refuse.

I alsoi try to call today and i ask to a different man about that and him said also 30 days.

I try to call hoter ambassy and they said the same.

Im italian so my country is in the list of country that can have 60 days.

Before i had a tourist visa for 60 days.

So i dont know what happen and im courios to know if in hoter country they change this rules.

i know soun creazy but is the true.

tks Luca

The tourist visa you get should be valid for travel to Thailand within 90 days from the date of issue of the visa.

When you arrive in Thailand with your Italian passport the immigration officer will stamp your passport with permission to stay for 60 days. The Cairo embassy staff may not know this because it is not part of their job to know it, but the immigration officer at Bangkok airport will know what to do. Just make sure to write the visa number on the arrival card.

Have a nice holiday in Thailand!

As Maestro already said upon Entry with a valid Tourist Visa on a Italian Passport you will be allowed to stay for 60days which can be further extented for another 30days for THB 1,900.- at any Thai Immigration office.

There are actually countries that are not on the visa exempt list (41 countries), they will be stamped in for ony 30 days, but can extend their visa twice (in country) to the maximum of 90 days. But since you have an Italian passport, you will indeed be stamped in for 60 days not 30 days.

//Edit: Off topic. OP says he travels on Italian passport and Italy is on the list of countries whose nationals get a 60-day permission to stay when entering Thailand with a tourist visa.
