My gf will be applying in January for a fiancee visa so that she can marry in the UK during her visit here next Spring. Regarding which supporting information is required:

1) Bank statements - for my gf's previous 2 visit visa applications I have provided 3 months worth of original statements - is the same period required for the fiancee visa?

2) Payslips - I provided 6 months worth for her previous applications. Would this be a sufficient period?

3) Certifed passport copy - I have read the debate on the previous posts regarding whether a certified or non-certified copy is needed. However, if I decided to go ahead and have a certified copy made, when is the earliest acceptable time this can be done in advance of visiting the embassy? 1 month before, 2 months before ?

4) Is the embassy expecting to see a document to prove that the forthcoming wedding is genuine? If so, would a letter written by the minister confirming the church booking be sufficient?

Many thanks

Do you mean she will be visiting UK and while there get married and then return to live in Thailand?

If so she needs to apply for a 'Visit for marriage' visa (not a Fiancee visa) it is cheaper and as it is a visitors visa it has the same requirements as you have provided twice before. A Fiancee visa is intended for those who will settle in UK after marriage.

Sorry Mahout for not being clear. As my gf would like to settle here in the UK, it is a fiance visa we are applying for.

Cheers

See Checklist for Fiancee visa

and

Supporting documents required

There used to be a requirement to show evidence that the wedding was arranged but as you will be unable to book a registry until she is present in the country this is not possible and the requirements were changed. If you have made any arrangements or have evidence then it would make sense to provide it. See DSP

Evidence required for Fiancee visa application
