Hi,

I am planning to start an integration course in Hua Hin for Thai people that want to move to The Netherlands (NL). Some 1,000 Thai people move to NL every year and Dutch law now states any foreigner most be able to speak (some basic) Dutch language and knows a bit of our culture. Before coming to NL they even have to do an exam at the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok.

In itself a good idea. I believe also Belgium is doing someting alike. Am not sure about other EU, European countries.

Is there any interest in such course under Dutch readers?

Many thanks, kind regards,

Niels

You're going to have a tough time finding Thais wishing to learn Dutch in Hua Hin. It's mostly illiterate ex Pattaya prostitutes that seek entry to the Netherlands as far as I know. Teaching English yes. Teaching Duch, no. Inlingua or Berlitz ocasionally advertise for a Dutch teacher. Unless of course you want to spend big bucks on advertising for the 1000 Thais who do want to take the test at the Embassy. Good geluk anyway!

Hello Niels,

there is a Dutch MVV 'inburgerings course' in Bangkok: http://www.nederlands-thailand.com/

I also know that there is a Dutch course somewhere in the E-San: an 8 week course, including accomodation: http://www.thaidutch4u.com/

Maybe you could ask them for their succes story, since you're not real competitors it shouldn't be difficult to get an answer.
