Does anyone know just how many working holiday visas are available for Thai nationals. Despite a lot of 'Bla bla" from Mr Howard, i understand that the quota is very very low. Why is this when there are so many visas available for European Union members. These applications have to be in by June/July but from what i hear, the visas have already been made available by then. Can this be correct

I cant find figures on quotas so perhaps you can supply a source,

The 417 visas you are on about do not require tertiary qualifications....the 462 visas for which Thailand is included require tertiary qualifications.....prejudicial? yes but thats the way it is. Turkey, Chile and now the US also require that qualification. This may affect the number of visas granted from different countries and as there are more countries that can get the 417 visas then there would be more granted from those countries.

I havent read anything about June /July deadlines, as far as I know you apply for it whenever and if successful it will be granted.

It looks as if there are only 100 462 visas issued to most countries.

I dont know if that is for all working holiday visas or just the 462 visa....I must have missed that one after working and travelling for 14 hours...
