Was wondering what would happen to your wifes visa if you lost your job.

I meen, say my wife had been in the uk for 1 year, I lost my job, and was relying on public funds until I found some other job, what would happen if the embassy found out? would they make her leave?

I know its a stupid quiestion , but one I would like to here peoples views.

If you were to lose your job and be claiming benefits, you would only be paid the element to which you as an individual are entitled and nothing in respect of your wife. Whilst her visa were still to be valid, she would not be compelled to leave the UK, but an application for either an extension or indefinite leave would be likely to be refused on the grounds that your wife could not be supported from your own resources.
