I don't sense that at all. Many have chosen a simple live out of necessity. They opted to live in Thailand within their means in lieu of returning to their home country. Others are financially secure enough to live simply or extravagantly and don't bother with banal comments about those with less.

I'm sure you feel dapper in those 100+ bt clothes.
