garro Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 We applied for a holiday visa for my wife so that we can visit Ireland on the 28th of this month. We want to take our son (Irish passort holder) to meet his grandparents and the rest of my clan for the first time. It will also be my wife's first visit. We applied five weeks ago but still have not received her visa. Isn't this a bit too long? We supplied all the documents they requested and they acknowledged receipt of same. They haven't requested any further documentation or clarification. Surely they would contact me if there was a problem? Any advice? I have already bought the ticket and my family are eagerly expecting our visit.
garro Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 Does anybody have any experience of waiting a long time for a visa?
vinny Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 See also Applications and Appeals: Important: Apply for your visa well in advance and allow 6-8 weeks for your application to be processed if you are applying from abroad. How do I find out about the progress of my application? Applicants abroad should contact the Embassy or Consulate to which they submitted their application.
garro Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 Thanks Vinny. It just seemed to be taking a long time.
