My wife is filing the I-130 for her Mother to move to the United States. I was hoping for some good advise, so we can make sure we don't have any problems. We have everything they are asking for on the form. Everything that has been written in Thai has been translated into English. I was hoping someone might have some last minute advise or a suggestion to speed up the process.

Anyone have a rough idea on how long it takes on this type of visa? I-130 Petition for Alien Relative

any experiences or advise will be helpful.

I think you're looking at 6 months or more before they even open the envelope and take a gander at your I-130.  Then they need to ponder on it, and hopefully not request any additional documentation.

It also depends on where you file, which CIS office, some are backlogged more than others.

I was just wondering, I know it a throw of the dice anytime you send in a packet to the CIS. The funny thing is, my Sister in Law said their Mother has already packed and is ready to go....lol.
