US Senator Warns Over Move Forward Party Dissolution
Noted, and yes, correct, but the process remains a domestic affair. Tomorrow is MFP's "D-Day" and we'll see what is to follow. It remains up to the Thai voters to voice their concerns against getting the party with the most votes thrown out allowing for all sorts of little hat tricks by other parties. Democracy is a form of government, which actually does not work anywhere perfect; the closest to it might be Switzerland. High education standard by the voters, small country, multicultural (mix of French, Italian, Romansh and German as a language base) an a federal management among 26 cantons. If a country can arrange for post-vote "appreciation" on the voters tax payments, then there might be improvement possible - me thinks 😉 -

Brutal assault on Canadian raises serious questions about tourist safety in Pattaya
Just watched the video. Puts stuff in a different light doesn't it. You may as well punch a Thai as push them. The result will be much the same usually. -

How reliable are public transportation options compared to owning a car in Thailand?
Having a car (i've owned 2 pickups and 2 motorcycle) is the best thing ever! Ive travelled all over the country and visited places most foreigners don't even know exist. InBKK you don't need a car for getting around town but you do for getting OUT of town. Car ownership in Thauiland is also relatively cheap - repairs and fuel costs are very low - and road tax and insurance are also reasonable compared to Europe. -

Well it may have been a problem so was most likely agreed he could keep his head if he shut up and just remained governor. -

Using an overseas Debit Card to minimise paying tax for those of us staying over 180 days
The interesting part will come if you go to Immigration and they demand a TIN as part of the extension process. You will then be able to use a very common Thai expression, "mai mee". -

Poll: Who will Kamala Harris pick to be her VP?
At age 20 he wrote an essay suggesting the Palestinians weren't capable of running their own state. Not news and not his position now. It's academic at this point. -

Kamala Harris selects Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be VP running mate
Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate as she gears up for a November faceoff against former President Donald Trump. This decision, confirmed by two sources familiar with the matter, introduces a new dynamic to the 2024 presidential race. Walz, 60, emerged as a dark horse contender for the vice-presidential slot amid early speculation about other high-profile names, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly. However, Walz's profile surged over the past week, particularly after a viral cable news interview where he criticized some Republicans as “weird,” a line of attack that national Democrats subsequently adopted. Walz's selection is seen as a strategic move, given his liberal credentials and the perception that he is a safer choice compared to other contenders who have faced criticism from various segments of the left. Shapiro, for instance, has been scrutinized for his response to pro-Palestinian protests following the Israel-Hamas conflict, while both he and Kelly have faced backlash from union leaders. Moreover, Walz brings geographical appeal, hailing from a Midwestern state that Trump has increasingly targeted. Although Biden won Minnesota by 7 points in 2020 and no Republican has secured a presidential victory there in over 50 years, Trump and his running mate JD Vance have intensified their campaign efforts in the state, aiming to flip it in the upcoming election. Walz’s liberal bona fides and his recent rise in prominence make him a compelling choice for Harris as she prepares to challenge Trump in what promises to be a highly contentious election. His ability to appeal to Midwestern voters and his alignment with national Democratic strategies position him as a key player in the Harris campaign's efforts to secure victory in November.
