Can anybody direct me to a place in Bangkok that serves REAL buffalo wings? They're my favorite food but whenever I try to order them I either get a distressed look from the server or they come back with no sauce or even worse....... KETCHUP :o !!! I just want some nice deepfried tender wings with that delicious spicy buttery sauce that I could always find back in Rochester NY. Any suggestions would be awesome :D

Hint: Here is not Rochester, if you need buffalo wings, go back to USA. On the other side it is here much easier to find Tom Yam Kung in good quality than in Rochester.

USA is not the center of good food, Thailand is not USA, if you don't accept that this is a different country with different food, you either go back or learn cooking.

To prepare yourself....Trim wingtips and discard, cut wings at joint. Salt and pepper.

Deep fry (never bake, or shallow fry) for about 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees (F)....don't crowd the pan, or you'll not get em' crispy

While frying, prepare your sauce. A 1/4 pound of butter combined with a cup of hot sauce...heated until butter melts (don't boil, as butter will separate)

Drain wings on paper towel...let cool a couple of minutes, then toss wings with sauce in a large bowl.

Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.

I find the addition of Thai chili garlic sauce to the mix is excellent.

Hope this helps.....if you don't have a stove, an electric wok will do the trick nicely, and can be purchased quite cheaply...I recommend frying outdoors, or on the balcony.

Have plenty of napkins handy...Although Thai napkins just don't hold up...perhaps a shower after eating :o

The word Arrogant Prat springs to mind. You will find anything you desire in Bangkok as long as people steer you in the right direction. This guy asked for advice on a joint that does Buffallo wings, You dont know the OP for all u know he may have been fully absorbed into the Thai culture for the past 2 years residing in a monestary in Surin!! Living off all manner of Laos food and scorpians. Not everybody is shy of cultural adventures mate, and everybody no matter how absorbed into Thai living they maybe craves the taste of home now and again. What better city in the world to taste the foods of so many nations than Bangkok.

Good luck in your quest to find those delicious Buffallo wings Op.

H90 nobody likes a smart arse.

You’re an idiot, if you don’t have something positive to say why don’t you just SHUT UP!!

In Pattaya, I can get real good wings at The Great American Rib Company. They have a branch in Bangkok, maybe you can try there.

Instead of pitying him, couldn't we just be nice and pretend that the poster gave a very intelligent (and super witty!) comment that nobody else is smart enough to have come up with? :o

I wouldn't mind knowing this too! But- it isn't too difficult to make them at home!

I think you should look to western style restaurants and pubs. Places like The Garage (Central World, All Seasons Place) and Bourbon Street (Sukhumvit Soi 22) have authentic Buffalo Wings. I am sure there are other similar places.

Not sure what your living/cooking arrangements are, but it is quite easy to find both fried and barbequed chicken wings from street-based vendors. You could then take those home and toss them in a spicy sauce of your own (something store-bought should be available). Blue Cheese dressing can be hard to find; I bring back a bottle from the U.S.A. on each trip. Ranch is a substitute and widely available here.

Based on some of the comments here I'm guessing these folks didn't know that Buffalo can fly. Invented by Teressa and Dominic Bellissimo at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY.

Thai buffalos don't have any wings.
Thats right,if they did they wouldnt fall down the well !

well, they might... but they'd, like... fly out or something.

Buffalo wings are chicken wings whose receipt was invented in Buffalo NY as a snack or appetizer to utilize a very cheap cut of the chicken “wings.” Since then they have become very popular and are served at every sports bar in America and tons of other styles of restaurants. Because of their popularity, the cost of an establishment buying wings has increased significantly to the point they are no longer a cheap cut of the chicken.

Although many places have their own individual receipts, the most popular one is very simple and can be made in any kitchen. The wings are just dipped in flower and fried until golden brown on the outside. The souse is made with Louisinna Hot souse and margarine. Hot is ¾ hot sauce and ¼ margarine. Medium is 50/50. And Mild is ¾ margarine and ¼ hot souse. They are normally served with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. Also plenty of napkins.
