Around Ban Phe; Anybody Knows ?

Featured Replies

A friend of mine is going to visit tomorrow a development in the neighborhood of Ban Phe* where you can buy (have built) Thai style wooden houses.

Anybody heard of this or know where it is. Maybe has a link ?

It is supposed to be called: Mei Pin (but I can't find anything).

Thanks for the input.

I think you mean Mae Pim (or Mae Phim which is the same).

Coming from Rayong on Sukhumvit (route 3) you will see the sign (15 minutes after you passed Ban Phe) with "Leam Mae Pim".

You go from Sukhumvit to the right towards the coast, at the coast you take a left and after 10 minutes you are in Mae Pim.

It has a beautifull beach and 30 very good fish restaurant at that beach.

1,5 year ago not a Farang in sight, then a company called Logan started to build there and now it could be a warm Swedish town.

But I still recommend to go.

Good explanation by Erik..

Laem Mae Phim is only about 15 km from Ms. Bino's family home. I have spent many days there- in fact I spent yesterday afternoon on this beach. Had a great swim and a delicious lunch. It was busy - lots of Thai people on a day trip from Bangkok. I didn't see any other farangs, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were some. There are a couple of new-ish resort hotels on the beach that look like a nice place to stay.

But... sorry LaoPo, I'm not familiar with the place you are looking for.

Laopo,

About 3/4km west of Mae Phim on coast road is a new development of thai style wooden chalets - looks like it will be a hotel type complex . Or on the Main Sukumvit Road (Road No 3) between Rayong City and Ban Phe (on the left from Rayong) - say 5km from Ban Phe - is a builder of 'knock down' thai wooden house.

Not to change the subject, but does anyone know of secured parking for your car in Ban Phe for three or four days while we go to Ko Samet/

I think it's best to post your question in a new topic; you will have more answers than here I suppose.
