Anyone have any advice on good places to stay? Just want the basic bungalow with bath, net and fan. Want to go for a days next trip. I can get my tourist visa extended there for 1 month apon return to LOS, right? There meaning airport coming back in.

I went to Angkor last February for a week. Stayed at a place called the Chamnan Guest House.  This joint was clean, comfortable and safe.  English and French speaking.  Twin room with fan and shower for $5 a night. About a 20 minute motorbike ride from the temples.

Sorry, I can't really help you on the airport situation, because I've never been there.  I went to Cambodia on the bus.  However, the Chamnan GH is in the centre of Siem Reap near the Central Old Market off Sivutha Street. There's also many other guest houses in this area.
