I took my first bus ride in Thailand last week with my wife from phetchabun to bkk, and to be honest s**t myself.

He drove like a maniac.

Sad news indeed.

Thats because the drivers get "fined" if the bus is late, up to the point that they might earn nothing for a days work.

Not going to encourage safe driving is it?? :o

Well I find that amazing, the traffic most times is shocking, how can they impose that?

Guess its a another stupid Thai thing.

Why the OP couldn't copy all of the text, and thus, required us to click on a link (that is a lost of time anyway) that will likely be dead after a few days..? :o

Anyway, here the full news from the Google cache :

thats why I refuse to use busses in this part of the world. I tried it once Bangkok to Phuket, sh-t myself as well. when I am driving I even get nervous when a bus is close by, you just dont know what they will do next.

Because, unfortunately, manutoo, The Bangkok Post does not allow us to quote the entire article online. I have had to delete your text as well to protect ThaiVisa from violating the Bangkok Post's copyright restrictions.

ok, it's quite a good reason, but it's really unfortunate ... :o
