Hi all,

I'd like to buy a CBR 150 but It's very difficult to buy it in Vietnam since there's no many Dealer/motorbike shop that imports it to sell. VietNamese guys don't have a lots of choice to own a CBR because we could only buy few second hand CBRs 2005. A 2nd CBR 150 2005 is sold about 3000 USD - 3500 USD ( 90.000 - 105.000 Baht) . If I want to buy a new CBR 150 2007 , the only thing I can do is wait the Dealer/motorbike shop import it (not know exactly time) and the price to have it is very expensive (4500 - 5000 USD or 135.000 - 150.000 Baht for one CBR 150 2007). Therefore, I try to buy it directly in Thailand and import it by myselt. That's why I need to have your advices.

1) Competence : It would be great if there's any imput from anyone who has actually exported a bike to VN. Are there any problems or pitfalls ? If yes , what is the full cost to ride a CBR 150 in VietNam ?

2) When : I plan a 4-5 days trip to Bangkok (Airport).

2) Where : Could you please show me some motorbike shops where I can buy a CBR 150. Of course , I meant the shops can export/ship it to Viet Nam ( Ho Chi Minh City). If not , How to buy/export/ship it to Ho Chi Minh City ?

3) What : As I know, to buy it , I will pay the following items :

+ Official price : 64,000 bath

+ ThaiLand VAT tax : 7%

+ Ship fee : I've not know how much is it . Could you please tell me how much I will pay for a shipper to ship a CBR 150 from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).

+ Export duty for motorcycle is FREE and there's no hidden cost (corruption money) in ThaiLand , isn't it ?

4) How : Could you please instruct me all procedures to buy/ship/export it from ThaiLand and Import it to Viet Nam.

As I imagine, After reciving it in VietNam from the shipper, I have to paid :

+ Import duty (VN) : 90 %

+ VietNamese VAT tax fee : 10%

+ 2% to enter in a register and have a biker number.

+ It seems there's some hidden costs to peform some procedures (specially from custom ??? ) ?

I'm waiting for any response from you,

Thanks,

RG.

That's very interested when riding the bike from Thailand to Vietnam. However , it's illegal in Vietnam because any motorcycles must be entered in a register and got a biker number. To have a biker N.o, the biker have to prove the source of the motorcycles such as deed of sale , shipping document ... . To import it to Vietnam, the biker have to do some customs formalities and pay the import duty (customs duty) if I'm correct.
