Motorcycle Battery Charger

Featured Replies

Does anybody know where I can buy a motorcycle battery charger in Samui, and how much I should pay?

Thanks in advance. MN.

Do you really need to buy one? My local bike shop did mine in 3 hours for the princely sum of 50 baht!

I've been here for almost five years now, and never heard mention of a battery charger for bikes. With all the tiny batteries here, you'd think there's a market for chargers! But m/c cells need a trickle charger, with a very small amount of charge, or else they'll fry the battery. And the 110cc Waves/Dreams have such small batteries you can take them out and carry them in one hand to the nearest shop. Or, just buy a new one cheaply.

Honda and Suzuki dealers will charge your battery for free. A spare battery only costs about 300Bt.

Unless, of course, you have a real battery for at least a CBR150 with all its lights and electric starter, or one that starts a 2,300 cc Triumph....

I use a solar charger which I bought in the USA about 6 years ago. I use it for my pick-up and m/c.

Maybe you can find one on Ebay? :o
