Mossfinn
Common Law wife Thailand Common Law Wife UK Cannot corroborate either of these, but I was intrigued to look, because I believe the term, 'Common law wife', is no longer applicable in the UK, although you are looking for an explanation on Thai law. Irene
I have read of a case of a common law wife claiming for part of the property of the deceased in Thai court quite often and therefore presume that it could be the same as in UK.
eljeque
A friend of mine recently had a separation with his gf of 6 years. His lawyer told him she was entitled to nothing. He still made her a kind offer including assisting her child over the long-term. She learned court would be a no-win situation, and chose not to pursue the matter. FORGIVE MY ASSUMPTIONS BASED ON THE INFORMATION THAT WAS PROVIDED Your gf MAY threaten and ger her lawyer to do the same, if so, get your own lawyer to show you the laws and set your heart at ease. Even if it does cost a few baht, the lawyer's fees and some cash to your misses (to lighten her anger), it is not too painful.
