Voice Over Work

Featured Replies

voice over recordings which they will record onto disc. How much do you think I should charge. I will be given a script which I will first translate from Thai into English and then record have the translation recorded in English. Should I charge per page or a one off fee? Any ideas?

Thanks

If you are translating, editing, and speaking, I wouldn't take less than 600 baht per hour in Chiang Mai, and more than that in BKK. Take a wild guess how long it will take, double your estimate, and multiply times the hourly rate.

What's the context? Are you helping a friend or relative? Or have you had an unsolicited request? A friend or relative may expect a bit of nam jai so would be surprised to hear a request for payment; you may get a basket of fruit or a set of glasses as a thank you though. PB’s covered well an unsolicited approach from the TV station.

Thanks for the replies. I think they have offered a fair deal, translation 100 Baht per page and 1,000 Baht for the recording which should take no longer than 30 mins.

Sounds great, jingjingna. But the only over-voice recording I ever did in Thailand took about five hours to correct the mistakes in the English translation, practice the text, and then get it recorded. Good luck.
