The company I work for has asked me to provide certification that I have had vaccinations for

Polio

Tetanus

Diptheria

Typhoid

Hep A

Now while I have been vaccinated against all of these at various times over the years I don't have the paperwork so I guess I'll have to get them all done again.

So I'm looking for recommendations for the best place to get this done in Pattaya. And

Are there any dangers to be aware of? Like can I be over vaccinated if I had the last shots too recently.

I'm not sure what the dangers are but there are medical guidelines stating that certain vaccinations shouldn't be given more frequently than recommended. I think it's every ten years for tetanus, for example. Couldn't you just talk to the company about this? It seems a very unreasonable request to make. Or find a friendly doctor willing to do the paperwork?

One other thing springs to mind. You should have antibodies in your blood that show you've been vaccinated so you could get the certification that way.

I do not think you can be over-vaccinated. Yes Tetanus is every 10 years but they still give it to you in A and E if you answer them you can not remember the last jab.

I will ask a Dr I know tomorrow for a definitive answer if you can wait but you may have to remind me - these guy's work in vaccines and you will probably be using their products for that list above.

Should not cost too much depending on where you go.

You should get DTP as a oner, Typhoid which lasts 2 or 3 years but it not foolproof.

If you are getting Hep A I would go fo B as well - Twinrix covers them both.

OK I spoke to a Dr specialising in vaccines

You can not get over vaccinated - CDC guidlelines also indicate if in doubt give a booster.

He also said some Dr's can and will certify you according to medical history you give them and according to the public vacination schedule for the copuntry you are from.

You can get an accelerated program for the likes of Hep A and B - 30 days or so instead of 6 months but might require a booster after a year - blood testing for the antibodies first.

He suggested a travel clinic as they usually do the vacc schedule on the accelerated scale more than most clnics - the Dr's there usually look up and have access to the info more easily or readily.

Thanks for the replies lads.

I didn't have too much time or too many options here in Pattaya but armed with the knowledge I couldn't be over vaccinated I went for booster shots for everything I needed plus Hep B at Memorial Hospital.

When I get an opportunity I get to a proper travel clinic and see what they advise.

Thanks again
