Fast train to Korat

The government may launch an express train service between Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima. Deputy Prime Minister Korn Dabbaransi said Nakhon Ratchasima was chosen because it was the second largest city after Bangkok.

The Chart Pattana party leader said a study would determine the shortest route possible to cut travelling time. When completed it would make travel between Bangkok and the Northeast a lot faster.

A few years ago, one of my friend attended a seminar organized by the French embassy with a few senior Thai Officials ... in one of the speech, one Thai Official talked about High Speed Train (TGV in France) between Bangkok and Pattaya ... and started listing all the train stations where it would stop ... :o

I imagined being on this very hypothetical "High Speed Train" ... hearing:

"Kai yang ma leow dja !"

The train from BKK to Korat is only 4 hours now. Why would anyone need to travel there faster? Hey, this is Thailand, relax and enjoy the ride!
