Honda Super Cub - Anyone?

Featured Replies

Hello.

I just wish to ask - does anyone here own and ride an original Honda Super Cub? Any year, i mean the 50cc or the 70cc version. I am looking for experience reports....

I just simply love that little bike. Last year in April i had a chance to buy one - in Chiang mai, for 5.000 Baht but the condition was terrible and i didn't buy it. Now during the x-mas holidays that same shop had two more for sale but either one too expensive - for one they wanted 10.000, ok condition but no green book or license plate, and another one in worse condition but with book and plate, they asked a staggering 20k for it!

Some day i want to get one.... an old one, original. Honda still makes them to date (it's the world's single most produced motorized vehicle) in virtually unchanged design since the early 60's...... but to get one new in Thailand it would cost in excess of 80.000 Baht, thru official Honda dealers (i asked at the Motor Show where they had them on display, they have to be specifically imported from Japan but it's possible).

Best regards....

Yeah, they're great, aren't they? I love seeing the original ones still belting along and the occasional modified one. I saw a motorcycle shop that had a few for sale opposite the Tesco Lotus in Chaiyaphum. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop that time so I don't know the ages, prices etc.
