My wife wants to get this procedure done where an injection is given in specific areas of the body to dissolve fat. Her sister and a few other friends have had this procedure done and seem to think it works well. She says they inject oxygen but i think she means CO2 from what i have found googling.

Does anyone know about this procedure and if it is safe and does it work?

I might even be interested in it myself if it actually works. Any info would be appreciated! Also what are the costs and where would be the best place to go, her sister is telling here to go to a doctor in Rayong....

Ahh the infamous "mesotherapy" or the new an improved name, "lipodisolve". I feel like Mr. No in this forum. I'll save you the pain of my dull comments and instead suggest that you read the info at this neutral place that discusses the procedure and the chemicals used

This link doesn'ty seem to refer to the same procedure I am talking about. It does not refer to CO2 injection at all.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

There are 2 diffferent things: mesotherapy (which involves injection) and carboxy treatment, in which CO2 is suffused. Often given together (alternating). Carboxy does n ot remove sizable amounts of fat, arther it is supposed to smooth out the appearance of cellulite whereas mesotherapy is supposed to actually dissolve fat cells. From my limited knowledge of people whoi have had either, they seem to work but only for a temporary period then the problem recurs.

I would think that if it had excellent results there would be more people on here who had heard about it or had had it done.

Has anyone heard if there is any risks or dangers involved with this?

the most sensibile piece of advice i have read on this subject.

i know 2 thai woman who had it done, never mind the bruising and swelling etc, the loss of self esteem etc.

one had it done for the wrong reasons, vanity, jealousy or whatever else you want to call it.

there have been many documentaries on thai tv about unlicensed( sp), rouge clinics etc carrying out these procedures, and the after effects of trying to rectify botched procedures carried out the first time.

as sheryl says this isnt a quick way to get thin, its a lifestyle change.

one of the women i mentioned before is now back to her old 65kg weight, these appear to me to be the lazy persons way to get thin, it is not, it is merely cosmetic,

stick to dieting excercise etc, no matter which method you choose, if you go back to your old habits as sheryl says the problem returns.
