To all,

I plan to register my wedding next month to a thai national. Can any one advise what documents are required from me or my partner? I know we need passports and i.d. cards, affirmation to marry and proof of address. These are no problem. The documents that i am unsure about are the proof of income because ive been in thailand for 7 months and therefore have not had an income. the only proof of salary i could show would be from last june 07 or statements of savings. Would this be enough? Or would my case just get thrown out?

Ive been looking on several websites to find the information but not found a clear answer. Anyone been down this path recently?

If either of you has been married before, you will require the divorce/death certificates. In relation to your income, in my experience they accept what you declare without wishing to see actual evidence, so, in your case, amend the affirmation to read that you have savings of X amount with which to support your wife.

Scouse.

Yes, when I put down my income on the affirmation, there was no checks, just paid the 3600 baht, and picked it up the following morning.

Scotty..

Ok so i can just write down a modest amount for my salary, or I have savings with proof so that would probably be better. Is their a minimum amount they want to see as in 40k like visa extensions or a minimum amount for savings? Could show them about 400000 baht in savings. Or is it better to declare savings/salary in GB pounds or baht for the affirmation.

Also can this come from any account? Does it have to be in a thai bank?

Thanks in advance for any tips
